sorry if this has been asked before.

but the 30-day TRO on the confiscation of licenses has lapsed. does this mean that MMDA personnel can no longer confiscate licenses, and fees can be paid once again at Metrobank?

i got my license confiscated last month, and due to the closure of the satellite MMDA license redemption centers i had to line up at MMDA Orense for over five hours, from 7:30 a.m. to past noon.

yup, no more confiscation of license again.

and for added security, bring a copy of the list of fines and penalties from lto.gov.ph. pag nahuli ka, madalas, ang sasabihin nila reckless driving ka, 500 daw yun.

more often than not, 150 lang mga penalty ng usual errors ng drivers-- like running a red light, obstruction, overtaking, counterflow, etc.. wag papaloko sa mga mmda na malaki multa. always bring a copy of the list.

....magkano late penalty charges sa unpaid ticket? Php150 lang naman yung multa ko kaso nakakalimutan ko laging pumunta sa metrobank.

    wait, isn't counterflow a 2000-petot offense?
there's a list of the penalties in the A-1 Driving manual.

I think so. You'd probably need to go to the MAPSA office to either pay for the fines or to settle the issue.

2k! Who, that's highway robbery man. If your lawyer can threaten the pants from under them, that would be good enough.

actually ang violation ko is beating the red light. pero pati reckless driving at no use of seat belt daw ang violation. reckless driving daw eh 2000 petot na. pinakitaan pa ako ng type written list of penalties. :seeth:

Kung inabutan ka ng yellow or red while in the middle of an intersection or junction, contestable yun. Pwede mo ilaban.

    Hindi 2T ang reckless. Ang alam ko, ganito: 1st offense, 200. 2nd Offense, 500. 3rd Offense: 1T.

Saw your first post sa thread na ito. MMDA pala. I-contest mo. Chances are, sila pa ang magbabayad. Trust me. I contested nearly the same thing: beating the red-light when I was right smack in the middle of the intersection (due to traffic) when the light turned yellow, then red. Although I was not the only one who was "caught in the middle", I think I was selected because of my proximity (closeness) to where they were. I contested the ticket at the MMDA. The MMDA officials paid the ticket.

Ah ok. Sorry for the confusion.

Pwedeng tawaran yan. I-quote mo yung fees for traffic violations as per LTO. Nasa web site ng LTO yan. You can find other site (using Google.ph) where traffic violation fees are defined. Tapos, hinghin mo yung....tariff sheet nila kung paano nila na-compute yung P 2K.

i second that, i don't think 2000 ang reckless driving even sa MAPSA.

mas mahirap suhulan ang MAPSA, i've never tried it, kasi mas malalaki ang fines ng Makati and they get 30% to 35% of it. so kahit 2000 ang fine, dapat makikipag-areglo sila for 500 or so.

pero i've never tried it. kung magbabayad din lang ako ng malaki, dun na sa merong OR. what you could do is contest (pwede din 'to sa MAPSA) so dapat naka-mark sa ticket mo na under protest.

pag punta mo sa Makati City Hall, meron silang legal division dun kung saan ka pwedeng makipag-away. this is what a truck driver did when I was there: umabot ng 3000 ang fine niya kasi late siya (penalty of 5% of the fine, per day of delay). katwiran niya, hinuli siya ng PNCC at kinuha yung ticket at plaka niya kaya di siya makabalik sa Makati City Hall.
