change plate number

guys, first time here.... seek your help on how to change my car's plate number. my car is "stolen-recovered". im the 4th owener i assume its former plate was in "T" series being a 94 model car. when it was recovered by the tmg and was taken back by the insurance company, a new plate number wa issued, this was in the "X" series with the rizal monuement. when i bought the car, i was unaware of the plate number thing coz, all the papers of the car were legal and i was able to transfer it to my name legally. the problem, i was apprehended once by a tmg officer for having a plate number that is not for the "94 model"-- " T or U" series. Although, i was cleared by the tmg officer, after presenting my OR/CR bearing the re-stamped engine and chassis #, i feared that abusive cops or goons in cops uniform may harass me. For peace of mind and security reasons, i think i need to change my plate number.

i visited the lto website, they are offering "optional plate number" costing 15k to 25k. im willing to shellout the cost, however, it is issued for brand new cars only.

guys help, is there a way for me to have my plate number changed? even the "personalized" plate number will do, as long its legal

I don't think you can replace your plate number at all. As a temporary fix you can but commemorative plates, but those are only good for 3 to 5 years.
