Haaaay buhay. Basta ito ayala and pangilinan joint venture eh grabe kalakas sa gatasan.

Their company lagi involve very very poor service lalo na si ayala.

Year 2015 pala ito nagsimula panahon ni noynoy.

Beep Rides is not from ayala i think but a new thing by the bus operators and has a less reasonable card issuance fee (80 pesos vs 50/(30 or 20 pesos pag lrt ang nagissue) for the old Beep(tm)) waving the card fee for either would be desired though since pandemic naman.Smartphone based tap payment probably can be done as well since nababasa ng phone ung beep card so most likely nfc based sya although kailangan nilang gumawa and mag support ng android/ios app.

Kung gusto nila libre ibigay, i-subsidize nila o bayaran nila yung 80 per card for the people.

Those who do vacations abroad and purchase beep cards are not the same persons na umaangal for the mandatory beep cards here for their daily commutes.

octopus card is 150 HKD, of which 100 is for rides and purchases, and 50 is for the card itself that is refundable naman upon surrender.
and the "charge" lasts at least 2 years.
since we used to HK regularly, i do not bother refunding it. the cards still work when i go back the next year.
i don't have to make pila to that masungit na speak-chinese-only old lady manning the card purchase window at the airport.
    heh heh.

    is our beep card rechargeable?

The electronic chips cost money..the plastic that holds that chip cost money..the people that manufacture that card are paid wages..the shipment of those cards from manufacturer to end user cost money

When dutertes govt claim that they dont know it cost something and that cost will be passed on consumers is a BIG LIE coz 12% of that goes to the govt as Value Added Tax

To ride along peoples desire to freeload is the perfect way for the current admin to LOOK GOOD

sana ganun ginawa nila.. "refundable" para ingatan ng mga riders yung card.. problem is wala naman refund process para sa cards.. tapos yung beep card for MRT is different sa beep card for bus..

kung same cards sana mas ok kasi madami naman bumili ng MRT cards dati.. yun lang NLEX SLEX magkaiba pa ng card eh.. only shows na walang silbi regulators..

Not sure on the Bus only Beep Rides but the regular beep card have an expiry of two years with an option to renew for another year for 10 pesos. Card issuance and recharge in lrt/mrt could be done with either kiosks or the regular teller(if you want change for large bills).

I think that's only for 100k cards but hopefully by then the gov't has already made arrangement to subsidize the fee to the more reasonable 20/30 pesos that they have been doing with LRT/MRT issued cards since nde naman fair na private lahat gagastos sa project ng gov't.

I wasn't really much into the loop about this pero nung nakita ko sa news, I was honestly surprised na may Beep Card and meron pa Beeprides. Napa WTF na lang ako.

Dapat nung simula pa lang sinabi na nila na papayag sila kung iisa lang ang gagamitin, which is beepcard for the "other' buses and PUVs. For "our" convenience tapos hindi nila limit to a specific method na "centralized" or iisa lang. Defeating the purpose.

Yung 80php card fee plus load, I sort of understand. May nagsabi na dito about the production cost of the card itself. Ang di ko alam is wala ata itong "card refund fee" like other countries.

The model already exists everywhere else. Hindi man lang kaya gayahin yung guidelines ng government when "regulating" this when it was being hard implemented na due to COVID?

Nung sinabi nila na "FREE" kaagad ito as a reflex dahil sa complaints, part of me already thought mali din ito. But if bibigyan na lang nila ng incentives yung BEEP CARD company mismo to pay them back, I guess it works out in that way between BEEP and government for this part when they start implementing the "FREE" release of how many cards there will be that are FREE. But that doesn't help those that paid for it prior though.

I honestly had hopes for Tugade's management pero he is becoming more and more "reactionary" than visionary. To only "appease" now than stand ground because, as it looks like, there was little to no planning prior to implementation by the concerned agencies. Ika nga, walang usapan sa stakeholders, the company and the consumers/commuters in this case at all even from the beginning.

On the part of the company, malabo nga naman pumalag sila ngayon na nagdeclare government na free dapat yan and "make it free".

I get the intention but still, they had all of 6 months to prepare their plans since kanya kanya sila departments with their focuses on what part of the industries here they cover... pero wala e, on this specific part.

Same goes for what we see with Autosweep and Easytrip FORCED implementation when we all know na hindi nga maayos yung scanners with the RFIDs. Ewan ko lang kung yung new "series" ni Easytrip will be better but that goes the same for this. Medyo sure ako iaatras nila yung deadline and move it next year dahil sa hindi pa din lahat may sticker to remove cashless completely, or dahil limited stocks yung stickers, or sasabihin government to "avoid crowding" we are extending the deadline.
