May mga tao pa sa office. Lahat umiiwas sa traffic. I think I will leave after midnight. Kanina was one of the worst traffic situations I encountered.

Not everyone can afford to take a one week vacation.

I would have taken a vacation the whole week if only I did not have reports to finish.

Please excuse us stupid peasants who have to work for a living. I was stuck for 3 hrs to get to work.

EDIT: I choose to not jump into this pool of madness. Stressing over APEC won't do any good to myself or to anyone.

My theory is that they did consider Subic as a possible venue, but decided against it -- cost , logistics, and of course the political backlash over spending billions on facilities that will be used just once every 10 years, etc. They decided to use MM and just bite the bullet -- or rather, let the public bite the bullet. Like i said, it doesn't take a genius to know what closing a major road will do to the already worsening traffic. During Christmas season.

i get that the APEC *may* be good for us in the long run, and we want to make a good impression...my issue is that they should have made the whole week a nonworking week. If nobody needs to go to work, nobody would be stuck in the streets. Even if some people need to go to work, the volume would be exceedingly less. Instead they came out with a half-baked decision. Like mam Cath said, some people can't afford to file leave -- had they declared the week nonworking, wala nang pag uusapan pa.

For what it's worth, i started the thread in hopes of informing fellow tsikoteers of traffic advisories during APEC. imho there's no use debating over something that the government has already decided for us. i only meant to mitigate the damage. Ako rin ayokong mastress sa APEC, but sometimes we don't have a choice to not be stressed -- i will be reporting for work Thursday :p

I normally don't complain about traffiic but this is one of the worst traffic experiences in my life. It's almost 11 and I still hear colleagues being problematic about how and what time to go home. It was also hard driving kanina bec most cars are driving aggressively na (gitgitan). I don't blame them though.

Honestly I also have a lot of questions on the decisions made by the gov't for the summit. However, instead of just dismissing the people behind it as idiots (a lot of them are smarter and far more experienced than most of us after all), I'd like to hear their side of the story.

I've been flooding the Viber of my friend who's in the summit but it seems to be a busy night since he hasn't replied since this afternoon.

Some travel 6 hrs 1way and some cant even take public transportation, some companies let their employees take a break coz of this event. Have you seen the commuters wait in vain for transportation?

Some are lucky theyre just burning fuel inside their air conditioned cars while others stand in the 38c heat.

Youre no peasant. I am sure of that.

I stil commend some people who took their previldge and escaped the metro. I would have done the same.

    to lighten up some info.
Kaya hindi sa subic, cebu, or davao ginawa ang apec dahil they can't accommodate 10,000 people in one place. Like hotels and the venue. Not included un mga media pa dun kaya the best choice is metro manila. Saka commuters don't plan there travel yesterday and today or un driver lang ang may sala kasi di dumaan sa alternative route. Hmm basta may kulang hehe
