For people who went to work today, how was traffic? In my neck of the woods it was bliss. Am sure it had more to do with class and government office work suspensions but still, I really enjoyed driving without those boneheads hogging the roads today.

The general transport strike set for Monday and Tuesday has been canceled, organizers said Sunday.

Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) president George San Mateo announced the cancellation of the two-day protest action in a press conference in Quezon City.

San Mateo said that instead of a transport strike, jeepney drivers and operators opposed to the government's public utility vehicle modernization program will conduct a transport caravan on Monday, December 4, to Don Chino Roces Bridge (formerly Mendiola).

For me it doesn't matter Kung modern jeeps or not. But kailangan naman talagang palitan na yun mga bulok. What Id rather like to see from transport agency natin is ayusin nila mga drivers. Kahit anong modern ng sasakyan kung bulok yun nagmamaneho, ganun pa rin.

Lahat ng PRO DL holders, Re evaluate din nila dapat meron re-test. Tapos limit na rin nila yun pagkuha ng PRO or gawa sila ng bagong Category na License for public vehicles. Yearly meron evaluation sa kanila. Categorize nila kung taxi, jeep, bus or truck imamaneho hinde pwedeng mag cross over. Pag lilipat ng i Drive Like from jeepney to taxi or vise versa kukuha ulit ng License na para kung ano Drive niya. Saka dapat meron certification from company na hire nga nila yun driver para pag walang sure na trabaho as driver hindd pwede makakuha ng PRO DL.

+1 on this. They should simultaneously implement the PUV & "Driver's" modernization. For a fact, madami na din modern buses pero drivers are still primitive and barbaric.

Definitely agree with this. Most of the puv drivers don't know the rules of the road. Those drivers are causing more traffic.

Can't the government just cancel the operator's franchise kung ayaw sumunod sa bagong patakaran? Ang franchise naman diba parang privilege lang na kayang bawiin ng government na siya naman talaga nagbibigay?
