Before, we used to get special plates with initials and a triple number (i.e. EEE-555) but now we prefer not to due to the following reasons, mainly:
- Less identifiable vehicle (security reasons)
- Goes with the car when you sell it

666 is widely thought to refer to the Emperor Nero... not the Devil.

The text itself says it is a "human number", so that suggests it refers to an actual human, who is the Beast.

One must take into account Revelations was written at a time of great strife in the Church, when it was being oppressed by the Roman Empire... and read it mindful of the milieu it was written in.

of course, having a "666" number plate in a Catholic country is probably not a good idea...

totally agree! besides there's no more "prestige" having special plates, even saw some entry level sedans sporting them.
as for the 666, i don't find anything peculiar about it.
