Yes, of course! How can you possibly not notice something like that?! That's why I always put on my seatbelt before backing out of our garage. It can be really irritating if you don't. But I think that the extra safety you get from the backup sensors is well worth the ear discomfort, especially for a big expensive truck. The last thing you want to do is to back up on somebody by accident, or hit your car while trying to parallel park. And because my wife drives it too, she won't have a hard time maneuvering.

I hated the fixed antenna, so I just took it off. Now my Explorer doesn't look like an oversized remote controlled toy.

Mine is also averaging the same - around 4km/li city driving.. On the trip info its actually climb from 17.8 to 18.5l/100km

hey guys aint it a great and cool car huh? Power adjustable pedals, doors auto lock when you step on the gas, backup sensors, dual zone climate control, vents flushed on the roof for 2nd and 3rd row plus 2 more on the center console for 2nd row pax. 3rd row fits full size adults(not hobbits) and folds flat on the floor, shift on the fly 4x4 buttons, message and info center console, power sunroof, 2piece rear door that you can remotely open the glass door... very nimble for its size and great comfort for the long haul. I think its a bit impractical for it for daily drives on the metro traffic.

Well aside from the fuel consumption, my other gripe is the antenna. I think they should've put in a power antenna or something. I have a hard time putting on a car cover hehehe. Its darn hard to wash and detail the car coz it's big Oh and I don't like the way shift indicator is layed out. There's just a needle pointing to "D" Drive or "P" park on the dash... kinda out of style Beige leather and plastics are easily stained. I'm still getting used to the pedal brake instead of the hand brake.

Looks like you have the 4x4 Eddie Bauer edition, so all I have to say is... ANG SWERTE MO! I love the leather seats on the EB, and the auto climate control is such a nice addition. But I guess I just have to be content with my manual A/C mode. I'm glad that they didn't totally scrimp on the XLT's specs, especially on the wheels... same pretty 17" mags.

Don't you find the sunroof of the 4x4 too small for such a big car?

That A/T shift indicator is just characteristic of most American SUVs. I guess Ford keeps it because people prefer it that way. This way, you never have to worry about the light malfunctioning and you accidentally back-up on someone when you thought you were on "D". If the shift was gate-type and placed on the center console, I figure this wouldn't be the case and we'd have illuminated shift indicators as well.

Thanks! mahal din ang monthly nya Actually not sure if I belong to this thread hehehe There were alot of cars we looked at bec. My wife and I are starting a family and we needed a 7 seater... from innova, starex, everest, alterra, fortuner(I guess I qualify hehe ), Hilux(exemption to the rule hehe but never serious about it) etc... We never thought of the explorer. And we thought of getting another diesel as well...

naku, mukhang ako lng ata ang kumuha ng tsikot na below P1.25M ah ...

anyway, here's the pics of my ride...

got free fog lamps, installed reverse sensors (5 thou sa casa para di ma-void ang electrical warranty).

next on my list is tire cover. ano kaya magandang shop sa banawe na gumagawa ng tire cover na halos identical sa orig?

i haven't calculated the exact consumption... pero estimate ko 7 to 8 kms per liter cya, 250 kms consumed half tank of fuel, city driving (70 liters fuel tank capacity).

OMG! This thread is a blessing! After months and months of frustration because of the "I want a Fortuner" line, my wife and I are thinking of either getting the Explorer Wagon or Explorer Pick-Up or the Chevy Trailblazer. Baka nga Hi-Lux patulan ko na din e...

According to my source from Toyota Makati, come September, their allocation of Fortuner will be increased from 16 to 32. Most of the dealers daw magiging 32 (Manila Bay, Otis, Shaw, etc.). Provincial branches daw will be increased to 15 (from 6 to 8 depending on location). He said that Toyota Thailand will finally be able to (at the least) meet the demand halfway.

    Sana...

Yup, you aint that rich. Only slightly rich. I hope you're not feeling sorry for waiting in line to buy an SUV worth atleast P1.0 MILLION. Many Filipinos can't even afford to buy a second-hand car. Let's not be too conceited, shall we?

Another alternative for those waiting in line is the Chevy Equinox. Priced just a tad higher than the Fortuner, siguro mga 1.3-1.4M. Looks as good if not better than the Fortuner. To be released this September-October.

the equinox is smaller, slightly larger than sorento, no 3rd row seating..it looks nice but the chevy reputation is..ahhh uhhhmmm...ask na lang mbt?

our explorer hasnt seen much action since wala pang plates but using this weekend it registered an average of 20.7L / 100km

    Altis,

sana nga dumami na ang allocation nila para matigil na kalokohan ng dealers huwag lang kayo maabutan ng mga evat or any other magical price increases...just late last week an agent was pressuring a friend who was in line for the 'TUNA to get the in house financing and all the add-ons para ma-release na raw yung unit this week or else bigay daw niya sa iba...grabe daw talaga nakaka walang gana..he's thinking of biting toyota's stinkin' bait or getting a ford instead... I say mag DURANGO na lang siya! ahahahaha! immediate delivery pa!

    Hero,

Slightly larger than the Sorento? Isn't that a good thing?

Anyways, I don't need the 3rd row. Bahala na, whichever comes first, Equinox or Fortuner, kukunin ko na.
