January 24th, 2006 12:20 AM #11The last year of the LC80 was '98. The local model was an HDJ80 with a 1HD-T 4.2L turbo diesel. I've seen one with 135k km on it, still doing 9-10 km/L on the hiway.

I think its well worth it.

Diff lock is used on certain off-road conditions e.g. to free your vehicle when you're stuck in mud or soil. When you turn it on, all for wheels OR both rear wheels will rotate in the same ratio-speed regardless on the steer. Never use the diff lock on speeds greater than 20kph as it may render your vehicle unstable and hard to steer. It will also promote excessive tire wear and tear.

Dapat ba naka Low or High pag naka-on ang diff lock?

You use center difflock in situations where in you would shift a part time vehicle from 2H to 4H.
Difflocks are to be used only on surfaces that offer some slippage. Like loose gravel, sand, etc. You don't have to be stuck to engage it. The surface just has to offer some slippage.
www.ih8mud.com is a great LC80 forum.

When the C/D is open, the AWD system of the LC functions just like the AWD system of the RAV4 which is designed for on road use.
