Sometimes companies have to make supplies appear scarce to convince people that their product really sells. Especially with the monty competition. Tough they are really eyeing in-house financing buyers because it's more money for them.
Remember the flood in Thailand last Oct-Nov 2011? This flood has affected the suppliers of Toyota Thailand, which in turn has affected the production of Toyota Thailand (where these Fortuners are sourced from by TMPI).
Sometimes they don't it right also. Last Oct-Nov 2011, TMPI had an oversupply of 2012 Fort gas so the dealers were giving 40K discounts.
anyone knows kailan lalabas d2 sa philippines ang 2.5 d4d VNT engine? both fort and hilux.
and hows the performance of 2.5 d4d engines? d po ba ba underpower? especially when loaded and steep road?
imo, supply and demand is in the work. toyota keeps the supply low so to keep the price on that range plus the image of being in demand. they also get the chance to use the customer's downpayment for their operations and other expenses... talk about free money. they also use this artificial shortage to hard sell their financing plans using the catch phrase "you will be prioritize if you avail of our financing".
what if approved ka sa in house financing nila and they agreed on freebies etc at may unit nang naghihintay saio.. then on the day na pirmahan na sasabihin mo nagbago isip mo at icash mo nalang pala. bigla bang mawawala yung fort?
the idea of inhouse financing is for them to earn interest from the loan they are extending to you. definitely, mas mataas ang interest rates nila vs the bank. if that's in your mind, try to get a copy of the contract and read the fine print. check if you have to option to pay the balance in full later on. kung ok, go with the deal. then after a month...advice them of your intention of paying the entire remaining loan. or you can ask the bank to take over the loan for a lower interest rate.
