you can try the tire and rim stores in banawe and evangelista, po. owners will go there to trade in their stock rims for fancier ones. you can probably get one piece, if you look hard enough. sa dami ng nananakawan ng spare tire...
if the rim is for the spare only, you might consider one that fits but does not look like the other four.
Sir thanks for your help! sa banawe wala akong makita. Already got mine from Tomas Mapua same exact rim then second hand tire.

    Paddle shifters of the Fortuner...

I just read from Uly of CarGuide that the paddle shifters of the new fortuner works differently compared to normal paddle shifters of other vehicles, and he says:

"It’s also equipped with paddle shifters, only they don’t work in the conventional sense. Engaging the paddles at any time displays a gear, for example, 5. This means the gearbox is free to engage any gear from 1 to 5. If you flick it down to 3, it’s free to engage any gear from 1 to 3. It’s not a real manual override, but more of an overdrive off switch."

Does this mean that if you are on the 5th gear and you want to overtake, you cannot just just downshift by flicking the paddle shifter but rather you will need to step on the accelerator to downshift to either the 4th or 3rd gear? With this set-up, the paddle shifters seem to be useless.

Can we have the insights of the owners of the new fortuners (with paddle shifters)?

    Thanks.

Lahat ng Toyota ganyan. Think of it as D5, D4...D1.

So if you're in 6th gear, then you flick the paddles down to 4, then it will go down to 4th gear (can also go down to 3,2, or 1).

    mga sir,

question naman po kung na encounter nyo na ito sa fortuner nyo.

un pong gps d nagsasalita (like kung mag tu turn na) kahit d naman siya naka mute.

dati kasi kahit na naka radio ka hihinto ung radio and sasabihin na "turn right on in xxx meters to xxxx"

    maraming salamat po.

Good day po mga sir! I would just like to ask what the average cost of maintenance ng beloved fortuner (2005-2013) niyo for a year(3.0 4x4 A/T for pre VNT models and 2.5 4x2 A/T 2012-2013). We are considering kasi on buying one. Many thanks!

I can speak for the 2KD engine... Maintenance cost is around 10k-12k per year. That consists of engine oils (mineral oil; 2x a year), fuel filter (2x a year), oil filter (2x a year) and air filter (1x a year). On 40k, it would hover around 12k for casa price. On 20k, around 7-8k would be spent. I think that is the same figures for 1KD engine considering their replacement parts are on the same average price.

    I have a 2014 G/AT VNT model, 22k on the clock now.

so far, have done oil changes twice a year (lets say 5k per change including oil, filter, and labor)

i've replaced the fuel filter twice (every 10k pms, around 800 per filter)

replaced the engine air filter once (at 20k pms, its 1k++ iirc)

replaced the cabin air filter once (at 20k pms, its 1k++ iirc)

spent around 5k each on extra maintenance steps during 10k and 20k pms (things like brake cleaning, belt and fluid checks, bolt tightenings, greasing, etc..)

i'd say its been pretty easy on the pocket so far.

Newbie question po, effective po ba ang ganitong lock para sa 2016 Fortuner?
    823936632_1_1000x700.jpg

Meron po bang thread na specific sa mga spare tire locks? Been trying to go through the forum at wala akong makitang specific sa spare tire locks para sa Fortuners.

Thank you po sa mga sasagot at pasensya na po kung parang di ako nag-reresearch muna, i don't have much time to go online po.

Its rain days again and with all the flood we encounter on the road, Any owners who have tried performing underchassis greasing?

Asked a mechanic to crawl underneath my unit (vehicle lift not available). He said its not possible to grease the ball joints, etc... bec. there are no greasing nipples. He said the components are "disposable" bec. since its not possible to grease them, just replace them when found worn out.

Even the propeller shaft, he did not find a grease nipple.

If all this mechanic said is true then its a quite surprising then for a vehicle like this to not a single grease nipple.
