that's a relief, thanks retz. saw this article also but it was the 3.0 diesel. even with the upgraded engine there was not much difference in acceleration. not sure though if same lang sa vvti. i just want fast acceleration if ever i need it during overtaking even on an uphill.

Fast acceleration? Get a Sorento or Sta Fe CRDi
Or for the Fortuner, you can get a Racechip upgrade for it.
Toyota Fortuner 2014 Major Change Facelift and Toyota Hilux Vigo 2014 Major Change Facelift New Shape Model - expected to be released late 2013 - promise to be the much expected complete overhaul of the IMV product range. This IMV overhaul is known as IMV II. Next Model Toyota Fortuner 2014 and Next Model Toyota Hilux 2014 are being built by a worldwide Toyota team.
Engineers of Toyota Australia have now been brought on board to bring their expertise in re-design. Toyota Technical Centre Australia (TTCAu) will responsible for development of the all-new SUV from the point where the project diverges from the HiLux on which it is based. Toyota Australia engineers will also lead chassis tuning of the HiLux. Toyota Fortuner 2014 Spy Shots and Toyota Hilux 2014 Spy Shots will be available soon. Specifications (specs) will follow soon.
Toyota Fortuner 2014 and Toyota Hilux 2014 will prove to be a substantial change that will revive Fortuner and Hilux franchise. It will have a completely new shape and a range of new technologies to compete with all its competitors. Ford, Mazda, Isuzu and GM Chevrolet's all released their Major Change facelift models as their 2013 models and they have made great strides and leaptfrog past Toyota in many aspects. Toyota does not want to be left behind and this Major Change will being a major change in its fortunes and restore the flagging fortunes of Fortuner and Hilux.. - I saw this sa net awhile ago.
^but if the ball is already rolling, we will likely get our hands on this new model by late 2014 the soonest, tama po ba?
*renzo, maybe going for the race chip thing after a couple of months if still not satisfied.
sa mga vvti users, share naman your experience from 0 to 60 kph and onwards compared with other cars. is the acceleration satisfactory kahit loaded 7 pax with just a normal press of the pedal o dapat pedal to the metal kasi nahihirapan na? how about uphill? sorry wala kasi gasoline for test drive dito sa amin. parang kulang din ang mga sagot sa lahat ng nabasa ko. TIA
Supposedly. I think Toyota will launch it within the 3rd quarter of 2013.
I own the vvt-i and 98% of the time its just me driving. If you don't like a lethargic performing engine, its best to gas up with Blaze 100. Before that, it was Xtra unleaded (before ethanol was mixed in) , then XCS (when they blended ethanol to Xtra unleaded) then Blaze (when they blended ethanol to XCS). Blaze obviously gave the best performance (in terms of acceleration, engine responsiveness, etc..).
^ yup, planned to use Seaoil 97 pag-city then Blaze 100 for out of town trips. same gasoline rotation sa cedia ko, maganda experience ko dito in terms of FC and engine noise, smoothness as well as responsiveness balanced on overall driving satisfaction. it's just gonna be me riding most of the time, just a little unsure if kaya niya with ease talaga ang full pax load especially uphill climb. sabi sa kabilang forum, medyo hirap ng konti with higher FC.
if there is 1st hand consensus here that the 2.7 vvti can run and accelerate on a reasonable incline with 7 pax on board easily to a max speed of 80-100 kph (without regard for FC), i'm gonna get me one na. if not, i'll wait for the TD of the Mivec Montero. not into diesel kasi out of my comfort zone na.
Mine is 2.7VVTi 2009 model, acceleration is adequate even loaded with 7 pax, IMO. I tried 6 pax loaded with stuff up to the roof rack during our trip to Sagada and never felt underpowered. Tried also 4 pax with full of stuff plus 3 bikes still power is enough for overtaking (parang ganon parin). Just shift to 3 if you need to accelerate hard.
But do not expect the same acceleration with midsize sedan or with full sized SUV like LC off course they are a lot quicker.
What's the best deal you guys got for either the 4x2 VVTi AT or 4x2 D4D AT? Hope you can pm me guys! Thanks!
meron pala power package consisting of unichip, headers tsaka k&n filter sa speedlab kung kulang sa acceleration, hehehe. mga 50k all in all siguro. how much kaya ang gain nitung package in terms of 0-80 kph time? i'm not gonna race it pero it will be nice to know if fast acceleration is there when needed. well, at least may plan B na. astig talaga porma nitong fortuna.
meron sa MOA naka display na Fort c/o BDO insurance hangan March 13 lang ung promo nila na mababa ung interest rate you might be interested.
The spare tire of my fort was stolen.
Where can i get a replacement and how much?
Salamat
