Yes same type as Innova and Hilux.
Its also very easy to add a cabin filter to units that currently don't having an existing one. DIY or any Toyota dealer can do this for you. You need to cut something out and buy a cover and the filter.
Ceiling mounted aircon vents started with the facelift version (2009 and up model).

August 5th, 2013 06:59 PM #1316Wala pa naman sa gas fortuner but the one you have experienced is similar to my gas innova. I can hear a "distinct sound" sa umaga after driving a few meters then goes away when the engine is already warm.
What fuel octane are you using? 93 or 95?
I have switched to 95 octane fuel and nawala na yun sound.

For gas variant, I prefer Petron Blaze 100. Best response.
PS: I have also tried Xtra Unleaded and XCS (back when they were still 100% gas and no ethanol).

bottomline question for many potential costumers, "is it coding-full, or is it coding-free?"
