at the rate the price increases are going, especially if another round of increase is planned this nov., the fortuner may start to lose its affordability appeal.
either they are increasing fortuner's price to make room for the rav4 or they realised belatedly that they priced the fortuner a bit cheap.
sobra naman ang toyota pag nag-increase ulit sila. magdadalawang isip ako na kumuha na lang ng alternative na unit. php 100k na ang na-increase sa unit since i first made a reservation. baka kasi pag nakuha ko na 4x2 d4d ko around php 1.5M na ang presyo which is the initial price of the 4x4.Originally Posted by cary168

hi. pumila na rin ako sa 2.7 vvti. tanong ko lang kung how many percent city driving yung km/liter mo. thanks..Originally Posted by andre
For me, almost 100%, di ko pa siya nailalabas kahit itong long weekend, pero medyo binabantayan ko talaga yung engine speed ko, so that could be the reason why ok ang consumption ko dito. I usually maintain my speed at a certain stage, pero there are times I rev it up, just to see how fast to goes, but I haven't had the opportunity to go beyond 100 kmh (usually weekends, and EDSA). But, compared to our old Revo, masmatipid nga and Fortuner.Originally Posted by beebs
yup, your right, my 2nd gen CRV fuel consumption is practically the same with my 2.7 VVTi. But the Fortuner is much faster to accelerate than the CRV. CRV torque doesn't kick in immediately when you press the gas pedal.
There won't be any tension between the all-new Rav 4 and the Fortuner. Lagi naman sold out ang units ng Fortuner kaya walang problema on Toyota's point of view.
If its the price difference and therefore the resulting sales cannibalization that Toyota Phils. is so adamantly worried about, then it would be better if they just bring in the TDM (Thai Domestic Market) Fortuner and price it accordingly. Instead of senselessly increasing prices without any visible improvements to the vehicle.
Toyota's claims that the price increases are being influenced by these factors: high steel prices from China and the exchange rate (peso-to-dollar seems stable hovering at P56 to high P55 to a dollar, so this a bit of a lame or illogical excuse) .
just made my reservation for fortuner 2.5 at pasong tamo last saturday. My agent sez i have to wait for 5 months (at least) for my unit. guest i am at the bottom of the food chain. any feedback from you guys who made their reservation onthe same dealership?
We spent the weekend in Pampanga with the Fortuner and the drive was very pleasant. Yesterday though, we saw a 3.0V fortuner installed with.....Bullbars hehehe. They looked similar to the ones installed in L300 vans. Wanted to snap a photo but the reflexes were a bit slow and the driver was in upak mode. Let me say that it looked "different" :D hehehe

accidental and deliberate(!!) bumps. Depends on your geographical location and use, though. The upside of the Fortuner's design is that you can rig it for either offroad or city drive image, and will still look good, depending on your taste and preference (subdued to garish). Just a thought....
Guys! You know what? I found it questionable for e-VAT to apply it to cars again assuming that it will be approved by SC. Isn't it that the govenment already finalize the taxation scheme of the cars? Like from x amount to x amount = x% of tax to be added? Then if it is finalized already for cars, why are they still adding e-VAT to it? Haaay...
Mukhang dumarami na ang nakakuha ng kanilang unit. Konti na lang ang nagpo-post dito. Bising-busy yata sa pag-iisip ng image enhancement at sa pagda-drive, hehehe. Anyway, enjoy your new rides and share anything that could help us, Fortuner owners, deal with the peculiarities this vehicle comes up with. Drive safely, boys!![]()
