I'm interest with the OEM tirelock. How much did you buy it? Where? Thanks!

Got it also from Toyota Bicutan... It comes with a heavy duty bracket that is bolted-on to the rear portion of the Fortuner's ladder frame. Costs around P2.7T.

Huhuhu... We are going to reserve by next year pa. Both banks who's manager are close to me parents said why line up? the stocks wll come in by next year unless Toyota dont want to sell. I cant wait anymore but then again patience is a virtue. :-)

On the other hand, an agent told me the reason why Toyota is slowly importing/making available the fortuner is a business strategy because they will kill their own Innova and RAV4 market.

For the meantime, gonna ask my friend in Singapore to check out the original sonar if there is one for fortuner and how much. para orig mga buttons sa loob. hehehe.

My agent in one of the toyota dealer called me up this morning saying that they have a unit available for me. She told me that the previous owner let go of it since its visa has been approved already. The downside is, it's in leather seat, IHF and IIF :=(. I don't have a reservation with this agent but all of a sudden she called me, I have a reservation in Toyota Bicutan but my agent there doesn't even bother to update me of what is happening, i have made my reservation their since last june. Anyways, i will visit toyota shaw now and we will check the deal. My wife doesn't want to bite the IHF and IIF, let's see if we could get a better deal then we decide. BTW it's 2.7G Black.

We will be welcoming the new member of our family next week. 2.7G Black Fortuner. We have closed the deal a while ago. We can get the new member of the family Monday or Tuesday next week. They are going to put the tint tomorrow and apply the rust proof. Can't sleep, after the waiting for so long. Although we have to bite the bullet and get the IHF and In-house insurance just to beat the price increase and E-VAT. Leather seat was also installed. Anyways, the deal is not that bad so we get it. Thanks for the nice reviews that I get from this thread, it really help during the decision making.

i used to have 3m magic dark sa windshield ng adventure ko. medyo madilim sa gabi lalo na pag dadaan ka sa road na walang street lights, so i had it changed to 3m medium magic. kaso when i get my 4x2 d4d unit i might use again the dark one because of the carkjacking incidents. medyo kita ka pa rin kasi pag medium tint...

I told the dealer I wanted the 3M superdark tint, but they misunderstood and applied medium 3M full tint, people outside can still see me, and with the recent spate of carjackings in Quezon City... I'm really jittery about driving the Fortuner... even for short trips to the supermarket.
OT, What's the best thing to do when you notice another vehicle following you and your instincts tell you something's about to go horribly wrong? (Just want to be prepared)

*zechs: I had SolarGard Super Black installed, instead of 3M. The front windshield naman is SolarGard Magic Super Black (Magic, so I can see better at night). Para 'di kita ng carjackers kung ilan kami inside the SUV, and they'll think twice before messing with us. Hehehe... Besides, 'di maganda ang UV protection ng 3M eh. With SolarGard, the interior stays cooler even when parked in the midday sun.

*fortuner13: Hands down, stores at Banawe offer some of the cheapest accessories available. Kaya lang, with the spate of carjackings in the QC area, I haven't gotten to going there na. I'm afraid of losing a P1.5M vehicle just to save P2T. I just tell myself na sa dealership covered ako ng warranty, para di masakit ang outrageous price...

Anyways, just wanted to share my unit's mileage and consumption data. Refer to attachment below...

here my fuel consumption & mileage data (2.7 VVTi). I wasn't able to include my first 1.5T mileage. I also didnt include my MID (mine isnt accurate anyway).
I used to fill up before Saturday to avoid the price increase.
I notice my fuel economy increase after my first 1T oil change.

Parang if you are using a 2.7 engine, you are lucky if you can get past 7 km/l in city driving. But its still better or at par w/ a CRV AT Gen 2.

*andre: Continue to monitor your consumption ha... Let's post regular consumption figures for the 2.7G and the 3.0V. Sana may mag monitor din ng sa 2.5G. Then, let's average out the figures. My consumption data is averaged-out in the last line.

FYI, Mickey's Autosound in Marikina has the iPOD H/U interface for the fortuner. Had it installed just this morning. It took no more than 20mins for the job. It fools the H/U into thinking there's a disc changer installed.

    another topic:

I find my tint too light (med grey). If I strip and change it, would it damage the built in antenna and defogger? Wala pang 1 month yung tint.

Vic, I remembered you mentioning living somewhere south, so you often pass SLEX back and forth. However if you take the QC-Espana-Binondo traffic like I do, you'll end up 6.3 km/l with the same 3.0v, which is the lowest I got strictly sticking to that route.
