    good day,

bakit kaya naka lagay sa vios owners manual na ang maintenance ng sasakyan ay scheduled every 10,000 kms at walang 5,000km check in between. pero ang sabi ng dealer ay every 5,000kms. alin kaya dito ang tama? ma-vovoid kaya and warranty pag every 10,000 ako nag pa maintenance? any idea?

thanks in advance for your replies

I noticed on the manual of another Toyota vehicle an additional note for extraordinary or extra dusty conditions, requiring oil changes every 5,000 kms. Perhaps we are considered as those extra dusty/dirty situations hence more frequent oil changes.

Talk to the Service Advisor of the casa you plan to bring your unit for PMS about the frequency of serve schedules. Most probably they will say pwede ang 10,000 kms if you use fully sythetic oil.

This is actually a better solution (5t kms PMS), especially for Vios and Altis engines as they are more prone to sludge.

actually what we usually do, after warranty, we use Delo multigrade oils for 1000km every 20,000km of use.

this will serve as "flushing". this is also to prevent sludge build up.

Dahil sa tindi ng traffic, init, at polusyon sa atin, pwedeng ma-consider na nagda-drive tayo under "extreme" conditions (browse your manual), so advisable talaga na every 5,000 km ang change oil at inspections.

    Check this out: http://www.toyotaotis.com.ph/docs/pms_labor_prices.pdf
Note: Recommendation for every 5,000 km check up intervals under severe conditions.
That means 10K talaga ang service intervals.

Tama po 10K Kms ang PMS in normal driving condition/environment. Metro Manila stop & go traffic condition is considered severe driving condition kaya sinasabi ng casa na every 5K Kms ang PMS.

How can the service advisors know what your cars operating environment?
How about if I live outside of Metro Manila, can I justify not having my unit serviced every 5K kms.? Or in short gusto lang nila tayong pagkakitaan. Maybe we should elevate our concern to DTI for clarification once and for all.

Alam naman natin that service advisors have incentives commensurate to total of service/parts.

I believe 10k kms. ang mandatory.

vios 2011 PMS every 10K Km?
