I'm really having a hard time deciding on what to buy for i have no choice. I really like the exterior of the Fortuner. I have a Pajero 2003 model. But i want to experience a very smooth ride now. Is the toyota fortuner really bouncy and nauseating?

either you have to live with it. since Fortuners share the same suspension with the Hi-Lux. well, if you're willing to shed cash, maybe upgrade from stock shock absorber will do the trick?

Iba yung Hilux, diba? AFAIK, beam axle ang Hilux while multi-link ang Fortuner.

So the Fortuner still isn't as good as a uni-body in terms of bump suppression?

I own a fortuner and my dad has a Gen2 Pajero. As far as the ride comfort is concerned the Pajero gets my vote.

But some claimed that by replacing the stock shock absorber of the Fortuner to an after market variety where you can change the setting between soft, medium & hard via a switch, the ride improves .

If you want the soft ride in an ladder-frame SUV, better get the Isuzu Alterra, if you decide to replace your Pajero.

bouncy? somewhat. harsh? definitely not. as firm-riding as a gen2 8/10-seat CR-V? definitely not.

    it's bearable, imo.

Its bouncy & wobbly. But People are still buying it, even if the waitlist are looong. 2 of my friends just got their Fortuner last month. I tried to warn them, but they say its the best value for money SUV.

Smooth talaga ang Pajero. Suspension seat pa on the GENII. When I'm driving people around town, they think I'm such a good driver because of the smooth ride. hehehe.

Fortuner is just a bit bouncy but doesn't feel uncomfortable. Body roll is less than a trooper. A 5 hour trip isn't difficult at all.
