Should i consider trading my Revo 01 to a Chevy Venture, Kia Pregio or a Nissan Serena? my revo is in tip top shape reason for trading it is " Para maiba naman". My revo is very reliable and no breakdown since 2001 just the usual flat tire should i trade up or just keep it? thanks in advance

Best trade or upgrade to a Revo is the Innova. Given your choices (though the Serena might be a notch higher in terms of comfort and class), it would be better if you stick with the Revo na lang. BTW Sir, is your Revo a diesel variant?

Never, ever, ever trade your Revo for a Chevy Venture. You will be in a world of headaches.

Marami rin sakit sa ulo yung Serena AFAIK. Plus parts won't be as common as that from a Revo. Di hamak mas comfortable and malakas yung makina ng Serena but otherwise, lamang pa rin si Revo.

Why would you trade your trouble-free REVO for an inferior replacement?

Do you just want to live a more "interesting" life with more vehicle breakdowns and other related vehicle troubles?

there is something fishy why the owner of the venture would agree to a straight swap.
    keep the revo, imho.

there's nothing fishy about it. the venture owner knows exactly what he's doing. it's the revo owner whose "lack of informedness" that i am seriously suspecting. heh heh.

well here's what he has to say about the venture issues........ anyways i already decided to keep the revo

about fuel consumption... ofcourse 6-8km/li for a 10 seater van (what i mean is a real 10 seater van not 8 seater compressing people to the point that they are not able to move in order to make it 10) is fair enough...

about overheating.... A lot of people here in the Philippines, especially those who made a comment in tsikot.com are an instant expert. most of them they own "one car" for the rest of their life... japanese designed car is much different from american car, the mistakes occur when the cooling system of the REVO will compare to the cooling system of Venture.. tsk.. tsk.. what a pity...when you pour a coolant in the REVO radiator, you dont need to bleed it out.. am I right? but if you do the same way in venture you will encounter overheting problem... which i think most of venture owner doesn't know even the good mechanic in the corner. venture has a bleeder both sides and need to unscrew to remove the air pocket. Sometimes, they neglect it since, it's a waste of time, not knowing that atmospheric air inside the cooling system will produce a cavitation affect to the water pump and will destroy your pump, when it happens the rest will follow, blow up gaskets, etc.. one thing more..... the cooling fan or radiator fan in the japanese car is directly coupled in the engine, meaning if the engine runs,,, the fan will run simultaneously... In venture, Radiator fan is not mounted in the engine, there is a thermal sensor in it, that when it reach a desired engine temperature the fan will begin to run, it is also connected to the AirCon system of which the saturation temperature is maintained about 68 psi in idle run, but if the refrigerant charge decreases the fan will not able to run until the refrigerant charge will be corrected..."What a good design by the american genius, to protect the precious engine" but a true blooded filipino mechanics are always making ways to retrofit the design, until the entire engine needs to replace... it's sad but... its true. To make the explanation short.... "don't be an instant genius" bring your car to a certified mechanic... when i said "certified" it's not about CASA, there is a lot of mechanic having certification from the manufacturers of your car of choice.. In my experience i never encounter such problem.. I do have a good mechanic in evangelista makati he is cerfified mechanic of american car.. he,s good, i mean he's excelent... and most of all he charge me very cheap....... half the price compare to CASA.

about a venture "on fire" in the middle of the busy road.... oh my oh..my...... what the heck.... rule no. 1 do not make the plumber to do anything over your electrical wiring. it will ruin your life!!! secondly, to be fair to all car manufacturers.. I saw a newly purchased vios burning along the road, Isuzu sportivo along NLEX, a passanger BUS, taxi, jeepney, airplane, even a ship in the middle of the ocean.... it can happens to anyone, to every body, to any car, but the question is How frequent it happens? monthly? weekly? daily? hourly? every minute? every second? or once in a blue moon. one thing i assure you... if the electrical wiring of any car or modified the electrical system by somebody, a plumber, a carpenter or a mason.... I assure you 100%, that car will be on fire the next couple of day...

under power when it is on uphill..... rule no. 2 do not make your automatic transmission the way you do in your manual tranny.... or dont drive automatic car when you dont know the function of D,2,L,3......

AT THE END OF THE DAY.. YOU ARE THE ONE TO DECIDE.... "Do not believe of what you hear and only half of what you see" do not affaid to study,,, it will makes you a better person.... for me the purpose of swapping is not "para maiba naman" its about... for us to know the beauty of the design of every car in the industry, to know the pros and cons of japanese, american, korean, european cars, from sedan, SUV,AUV up to the vintage which is the most difficult for a car enthusiast to maintain but its a heaven feeling when you have one.....

good luck my friend, hope you find the car suited for your needs.

welcome to the world of car enthusiast..

from what he is describing, it appears that the venture is a prima donna, while the revo is a koboy. so who do you want to deal with? heh heh.
btw, the ventures here are made in china, right?
btw again, the pregio might seem a not-so-bad choice.. if you can live with slightly hotter driver's seat and leg heat, and the sometimes-questionable aircon...

"...do not afraid to study..." are you looking for a car that you will be forced to study, or are you looking for that proverbial "sasakyan na lang"...? it seems the venture owner is trying to brainwash the potential buyer into getting into a misadventure with his venture...

(e.g. palit seat cover, palit HU, etc...)
    Good choice! Keep the Revo!
