Thanks! How far do you have to turn it? In our other cars, assuming that you start with the wheel at the 12 o'clock position, you barely have to reach the 9 or 3 o'clock position before you hear the click. This one, I have gone beyond the 9 and 3 o'clock positions without any clicks.

Possible issue and for warranty claim?

Also, the stock battery seems to not be the maintenance-free type. I assume that you need to top up the battery fluid every so often?

Thanks in advance for the feedback!
the vios to yaris ratio might be the reason...

if it has battery caps then that's low maintenance, a cheaper one (means big savings to car manufacturers), not necessarily top of of battery fluid every so often but requires "low maintenance" meaning you should inspect it every 3~6 months depending on your usage... (never let it dry as it's a death sentence for the battery)

Thanks, I read it over the weekend but I may have missed it. I saw mentions on locking for the keyless ignition-type Yaris, but nothing about explicitly locking the normal type ignition. I remember it mentioning that the ignition key may not turn and will need to have steering wheel turned left/right to free the lock, but nothing to lock it.

Got you on the battery. Will keep an eye on it. Thanks again!

I need to replace my radiator fan motor. Its for a 2010 E A/T.

Aside from Denso, what is a good brand? And how much?

    TIA

it does look nice and clean. but i think anyone can do this by just manually cleaning them surfaces and changing the oil a couple of times.
my concern would be, how are the mating surfaces of the metal down below, the parts that we can't see? how does the engine run, po?

10k OCI lang bro and top ups ng fluids lang maintenance per previous owner
So far 3 mechanics and a few officemates have driven it, lahat sila alignment lang reklamo
Conversely, after "repairing" the steering (rack and pinion, joints , bearing etc.), the guy at servitek did not want to do alignment task as it is aligned na daw; he even said the guy who did the repair did an exellent job.

so is the car aligned or not?
i had a car once.. the alignment guys say it's aligned, even as the car still swerved. the culprit? tires out of round. (oblong!).

Aligned daw bro. Binigyan ko nalang 50 php yun mechanic kasi he gave me some recommendations on what needs changing, like bushing ng joints and others (naka sked na dun sa suki ko)
Btw balance lahat tires except sa isang rear wheel, so had it balanced nalang.

6 liters of coolant 50/50 mix
2 small bottles of brake fluid
2 liters of ATF lll (for ps)
4 liters of mt gear oil

May iba pa ba akong fluid na na-miss? Planning to bleed everything
Done with the coolant and change oil na pala

have it lifted and then start manipulating the metal things underneath. bring along a rubber hammer, and a tough screwdriver to be used as a wedge against hard-to-move parts.. include the exhaust system. look for loose parts.
in rear-wheel drives, the propeller shaft's universal joints were a favorite source of that clanking sound.

also, if you can manage to produce the clanking sound while an assistant is outside the car, the assistant might be able to narrow down the source some more..

For fuel consumption and engine response? 2nd gen hands down.

The current Vios is definitely a guzzler. After 3 months at 7.3k odo, my 3rd gen can only do 11-12km/l with my daily Laguna-Ortigas-Laguna route. While my 2nd gen can still effortlessly achieve 14-15 km/l with the same route despite the fact that it is already an 8 year old car with 91k odometer in which the fuel filter is also due for replacement.

Boss, how do you measure mileage of Vios 3rd Gen J variant? Thanks.
