I actually would say, good luck to the taxi business. I believe Uber is godsend for commuters.

But Uber has higher operating costs and lower revenues per day than taxis.

Taxi operators don't pay 20% of their revenue to Uber. Taxi operators make their taxis run 24/7. Taxi operators give really low wages to their drivers. Taxi operators cut corners in car maintenance. Taxi operators have economies of scale.

Yes, having Uber is definitely better for commuters. But the big taxi operators will definitely outlast the ordinary Filipino who tried to invest in Uber thinking it's a good long-term business.
