    ^Well if there is a sound that wasn't there before, ignoring it is not the best idea especially if lack of funds is not a problem.

    It's really tricky to discern the problem without having really heard the sound though. Do you mean there is a ticking sound in addition to an otherwise normal sounding engine? Or is it some kind of engine knocking? Have you tried using higher octane gasoline? My manual tells me the gas Revo needs at least 95 octane. Then there's the valve clearance, at least with my diesel unit that would be the problem if there is an abnormally loud tak! tak! tak!

    I'm from the south and some time ago i brought my busted alternator to the highly recommendesd yok's electrical in qc to have it repaired. Sulit ang biyahe because it's back to being its primo self til now 👍

    to be or not to be, that always confuses me!

    Salamat sa input, actually that the first option "repair", if ever lang na di maayos chaka lang magpapalit.

    Alternators, especially the one's installed in Revo's are not that complicated as compared to newer ones. Electrical shops are very very capable of replacing every parts of those alternators. Yes, its much cheaper too as compared to buying the whole surplus unit.

    if you need to buy one, ask the alternator repair shop if they have one for sale.
    i feel the unit tends to be "more reliable", coming from a repair shop and not a surplus shop.

    Update lang mga sir,

    Naparepair na yung alternator kapatid ko yung nag paayos inaabot ng 2k yung repair may pinalitan na parts kasi yung isang parang copper ring di na dinadaluyan ng kuryente. Medyo namahalan ako sa repair kasi konti na lang may makukuha ng surplus kaya lang due to lack of time dahil kailangan yung sasakyan, may advice din yung gumawa bago ito irepair kasi maliban dun sa pinalitan na parts may tama na daw dun sa pinaka cover (medyo di ko gets kasi yun lang yung term na ginamit ng kapatid ko) sabi ng gumawa hanap na daw kami ng reserba na alternator.

    Inofferan din pala yung kapatid ko ng set na alternator 9k presyo (di ko alam kung brand new, branded or oem)
    Need advice lang sana for next step.
    Naiisip ko is maghanap ng alternator for replacement or pa 2nd opinion ko yung newly repaired na alternator?

    use it na lang until it fails again.
    for all you know, the guy was sales-talking you or setting himself up as a fortrune-teller of sorts.
    kung MT si revo, madaling i-push-start yan kung medyo mainit pa ang engine. heh heh.

    Hanap ka na lang ng ibang shop Sir. Sorry for the rude word, pero pineperahan ka lang nyan. The fact na wala syang parts dun sa sinasabi nyang supposed na kelangang palitan eh, incompetent yung shop nya. Sobrang luma at simple lang ng alternator ng Revo as compared to newer cars, madami yang surplus. As mentioned above by our guru's, gamitin mo na lang muna para masulit mo naman yung ginastos mo, tapos pag nasira uli dalhin mo na sa ibang shop. At least may time ka pa para makapag research ng ibang magagaling na electrical shop.

    Sayang naman yung 2k na pinangayos mo kung papalit ka lang naman ulit ng bago. Hindi ba maayos ang pagfunction ng alternator ngayon? Stopgap measure lang ba ang ginawa nila? Kung wala na syang inilalabas na problema IMHO gamitin mo na muna. Tsaka na ang bagong alternator kung nagkasira ulit, marami naman mahahanapan nyan.

    Nagpagawa ako sa Barrera's sa may Abad Santos when I had alternator problems with our Revo. Ok kausap ang boss at maganda naman ang pagkakagawa. They installed a higher capacity refurbished alternator. So far so good.

    Bad experience ako dyan sa barera. Sabi bagong piyesa nilagay, luma naman pala. Sinunagling. Sa red mas ok, along quiricada. Malapit lang dyan sa barera

    So far ok naman ako sa Barrera. Tatlong sasakyan na ang naidala ko diyan. Sinasabi naman nila sa akin na surplus ang piyesa if something needed replacing.

    Yup. Red electrical something ang pangalan. Along quiricada kasi sya kaya di agad makita. Unlike barrera na corner talaga sa may abad santos

    Yup. In between avenida and abad santos. Forgot how much pagawa dati. Ang naalala ko, nasira electrical system ng fuel line sa truck namin, ayaw magstart. Humingi lang labor. 200-300 ata. So nagbigay na lang kami additional mirienda

    magandang umaga mga bossing! tanong ko lang po kung saan ako makaka-kuha sana ng copy ng full detailed or diagram ng Revo Glx 2001 gasoline engine? before kasi namin nabili yung unit, pinalagyan ng dating may-ari ng bio fuel yata un (ung parang may tangke ng gasul) nauso kasi yun dati dito samin. den ngayon hindi na gumagana, so balik sa gasolina na sya. ang problema po kasi mejo sakal po ung sasakyan. kapag umarangkada, hirap sya. feel ko kasi ang dahilan is ung dating paglalagay ng bio gas kasi ung equipments nya is naka-kabit parin sa makina though hindi naman na po siya working. may mga hose kasi siya ta naka-connect pa sa makina. isang problem pa po kasi, wala na po ung dating nagkabit kaya hindi namin mapa-tanggal. any suggestions po mga sir?

    Mga ka Revo, ano ba ang ipapacheck ko, observe ko kasi this past 2 weeks, mababa ang idle during cold start pag morning same din kapag napahinga na yung makina at start ulit laging 500-600 ang RPM ko. Before kasi stable sa 900 ang RPM. kapag long stop bumaba din yung idle ng 500-600, medyo lumalakas engine vibration pag ganun yung RPM. matic po yung tranny.

    Pa check nyo Sir yung idle up / servo, baka madumi lang. Pag makapal na kasi yung alikabok, di na makaikot yung valve para makadaan yung hangin.
