aba kupal din ano? pag demo unit automatic qualified as used-demo...
saw the new rav4 upclose just this week.
space? well... they did manage to free up some more space at the back with a more flatter & wider trunk area (did the deletion of the full-time 4wd feature matter here?). an inch or two was added to the legroom of rear passengers while the front has a little more legroom.
the rear door now closes with a solid THUD (ours has a noisy & rattling tire cover).
the upholstery is nice... but isn't as trendy as the old blue/grey combination. though overall the interior looks really nice (i like the steering wheel audio controls).
I highly suspect that the new Rav4 used the platform of the previous gen, though it was stretched a bit.
Finally! after much pestering and pleading on my local toyota dealer for the rav4, I was finally able to secure my unit last saturday.
Second yung sa insurance. quote nila insurance is 65,000 for the 4X4 model but they were willing to let it slip and nakakuha ako ng insurance sa labas with same coverage (plus acts of God) for 44,000 from a reliable friend of my dad. Long story short, the wait is indeed worth it! Will post observations after my dad finishes borrowing it.
Congrats! i know the feeling of having a new car. nkaka inlove talaga yan, the smell, touch and humming of engine. ooh sarap!
you can test drive the all new rav on april 23-24, 29-30 at the autofocus event in fort bonifacio. Full details is in today's Phil Star Motoring page C4.
guys have you encountered any problems with your 06 rav4 units?
we got our almost a month ago (4x4). after a few weeks, the warning lights lit up (abs, 4x4, etc). toyota makati said that yung computer box daw yung sira. after a few days in the casa, sabi nila sensor lang yung may defect (i dont know which sensor).
so they replaced it with a used sensor from the demo unit kasi it would take a few more weeks if we want a brand new sensor (the part will be coming from japan pa daw)
well so far, the rav4 is doing ok. im just really frustrated with the fact that they dont have parts readily available for their new units/models.
Got mine almost two weeks ago (4x4 din dapat 4x2), so far wala naman problem (Pwera Usog hehe). Expected naman that there would be defects kahit CBU from Japan siya. usually 1 out of ilang units. Papalugi?! heheheOriginally Posted by ar_b
I would not be surprised if problems start to come out on a new model. Its always good to purchase a new model after a few years(of its initial release) until these things are sorted out(like the D4D issue on the innova)

but the worst thing is, walang panlagay ng kandado yung spare tire cover... been thinking for a while kung anong magandang remedyo eh, kahit i-kadena ko yung rim, eh baka manakaw naman yung cover, sayang din yun! :D
yup, tama kayo, there are still lot of parts na unavailable pa... biruin mo wala pa silang mud guard at sunvisors... well, overall the car is performing good naman so far
hmmm... delikado yang walang lock yung spare tire cover... ang daling pitikin siguro... considering how much yun.
huhuhuhu....wala pang one month na hit and run yung rav namin.....
GRRR!!!!
ayan lubog yung left corner ng front bumper. we requested for a new bumper sa insurance. GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
sana ma-karma yung naka hit ng rav namin!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, hope bastards like that get what they deserve, many times over!Originally Posted by ar_b

To those who have bought the 2006 RAV4, have you thought about a body kit for it? These are the one's that I have found browsing the internet.

Magkano kaya aabutin to?
Read sa "Overlander 4WD" magazine from Australia while they are test driving the New RAV4 variants, all of their test vehicles encountered a cut in engine power due to heat. Term nila " limp-home" ng ECU. They have to stop to let the engine cool down to get the system back.
i test drove the 4x4 variant. Steering feels light but responsive. Acceleration is great. Interior space is fine and the aircon controls are easy to reach.
