sabi sa car n driver magazine dati, yan daw crv eh talagang hanggang gravel road and beach lang, di pwede yan talagang "off-road" vehicle in the strict sense of the word. di nga daw yan pwede sa loose sand like in the desert or in mud.
why? sabi nila kasi 1st reason is yun chasis is based on the honda civic. it is actually a civic na mataas lang ang clearance so baka mabali pa yan pag 3 wheels lang naka-sayad sa mother earth. an off-road vehicle needs a full chasis daw. second reason is that it is not a real 4x4 because a 4x4, by its definition, will have all 4 wheels turning when YOU want it, not when the damn computer thinks it wants to.
di ako nagsabi nyan ha, read ko lang yan sa car n driver magazine. so yun may crv dyan, yun awayin nyo wag ako.
ung escape uses an all-new platform.
saka mayroong switch to use 4wd.
pero soft-roader pa ren..!!
waahh..!!
yung may gstong sumama sa feb 9 sa laguna post na kayo sa other thread pede kahit di 4x4
yebo8,
sinabi ng C/D yon? anong month & year na issue yun?... this is the same magazine that pitted a Subaru Legacy Outback and a gen1 RAV4 against a land rover defender 90 in a relatively extreme off-road test (the article entitled "Festival of Filth")...
magkano kaya ito? this is the 2wd version right? pero yung interioir ba pareho lang ng 4wd version? performance wise naman, anyung specs? ang alam ko lang 1.8L yung displacement eh. tnx!
panapat sa crv...
pumunta kasi ako sa isang focused group discussion sa tectite dati, dunno if it was for the SV kasi ibang iabg yung design concepts nila eh... pero ok, easy P700 ako don hehe
yup... panapat nga...
medyo mababa nga ang price... considering that hindi naman 10 seater ang rav4sv (unlike the cr-v)
pag nagpa 5k oil change ako next week i'll try to get some more info on it...
am also betting that the blue/grey interior trim would not be included...
Toyota RAV-4SV

MT only
Driver/Passenger Airbags, no ABS, no EBD
215/70/R16 tires on Alloy 16 x 7JJ wheels
P960 - 970 thousand (depende sa dealer)
overrated yung 1.8L ng altis by toyota phils., sa US 125-130 hp lang yun at the crank
yep mukhang over rated ata :roll:Originally Posted by mbt
sabi nga ng Toyota, the engine's output is halos the same pa din ng 2.0 RAV-4 na 4x4.
btw, the rav4 sv and altis 1.8's engine code is 1zz-fe.
its a shame that they ditched the ABS and EBD... that's what Ford did with their 4x2 Escape too... major turn off sa akin yun kapag alang ABS 'coz it really works!
i think that those figures are kinda overated too... not to mention that with SUVs, torque is a very important factor
