December 10th, 2004 11:13 PM #3Sounds like a good idea. Even here in Japan, there are a lot of toyota dealerships specializing in selling used toyota units.

it works very well here in the US - official new car dealerships "certify" used cars (basically doing a careful inspection and replacing anything that isn't up to their standards) and sell them with an extended warranty.
people pay extra for the security of knowing that the car has been fully inspected and has a longer warranty (masama kasi reputation ng mga used car dealer dito eh)
almost all major companies do it here, not just Toyota

Toyota is in the best position to do such move because toyota is known for its good reliability.
The advantage for this kind of service is for them to be able to trade -in cars, and therefore, increasing their sales for brand new vehicles(to those who really like their cars brand new). With increasing numbers of second-hand imported cars which are relatively cheaper, toyota has positioned itself to compete with this car market segment.
The message here is that, first: they want to prove that toyota has maintained good following and patronage over the years even if its second-hand, and secondly: they want to say that they have better reliability to guarantee a Toyota-certified Used car.Last edited by cyberdoc95; December 11th, 2004 at 06:09 AM.

December 11th, 2004 08:25 AM #10hmmmmm......interesting B). i wonder if this includes converted(RHD) cars as well. at least kung ung toyota mismo nagcoconvert e mas kampante ka.
Also, i think sa Japan they have this law that bans cars that are 5 years old and up; sayang naman
