Carb kasi, malakas talaga sa gas mga carb. Tsaka underpowered yan parang bigbody. Usually mga 7km/L.
Kung may budget ka, engine swap ka to 3rd gen 4AFE MT.

Dont change the jets. Just keep it stock, make sure the timing, compression, and tuning are in order and FC should still be a respectable 9-10km/L (that was the case with our 1999 AE111 1.3 LE). Problem lang with carbs is that when it's not tuned properly, malakas sa gas. Check also your driving habits and lastly, do a proper FC computation using the full tank method, the Php XXXX amount does XXXkms is not really a good basis to get consistent readings.

Kaya naman pala lumakas dahil nag re-jet ka. If you re-jet a carb, you should also be aware that you are altering the design. Bigger jets, means more fuel, more fuel means more air (for it to be burned in an efficient manner). If you introduce more fuel, but still the same amount of air, you will have rich mixture problems. Okay I will not get technical on this baka malito ka lang lalo.
The original jets of a corolla are 80 primary and 110 secondary, correct me if Im wrong. Those jets are designed to give optimum fuel efficiency, while not sacrificing engine performance ....... provided that your carb is well tuned. Problema ngayon, lahat na tao halos nasanay na sa EFI, konti nalang may alam on how to tune a carb.
I suggest, you revert back to the original jets, and have your carb tuned.
