You will need to press both side of the globe compartment to release the hooks on both sides.

They clean the filler cap's breather filter and vacuum buildup inside the tank was gone.

Evidently, Toyota knows this problem but no recall was done for the "FAULTY FILLER CAP DESIGN!!!". Newer Innova 2009 now has new design filler cap with larger breather holes and much more breather holes than its predecessor.

So if, you have older versions of Innova, Fortuner or Hilux be very cautious that one day your fuel filler cap's breather will get clogged and this will damage your fuel tank. While I was at the dealer's service area I notice another gas tank on the working table and when I look at it has the same large dent spot and same leak point (just beneath the front gas tank strap which is the weakest point).

Negative pressure builds up and thereby sucking the gas tank floor inward, and when the negative pressure is gone or when the car's engine is off for some time the gas tank floor will push back to its orginal form. The constant flippping inward and flipping outward of the gas tank will eventually crack open the corner bend just beneath the position of the front gas tank strap.

been back reading, ngayon ko lang nabasa ito. sana hindi magka-problem sa amin. tsktsk

It is cleanable, a mild air blower and a paint brush would dust off trapped dirt.

Maraming salamat Sir rearmednloaded sa reply.
Dami kung nabasa na negative feedback bout the older model of D4D of toyota innova. Like hard starting, CRDi problem, nagchochoke,,Etc.. Sana totoo nga nasolve na ito ng toyota sa newer models (2008-2010). Ang Toyota diesel ba ay naka timing chain na like isuzu or timing belt parin like my old school pajero? Pero in the long end madali emaintain at dami pang pyeasa.
Pls give me some advise before I purchase my Innova J 2.5 CRDi

it boils down to owners preference... IMO, mudguards are a must given the kind of road conditions that we have in metro manila... will require elbow grease to remove tars once it sticks to your rear bumper and underside.

Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it. Im actually in Cebu. i guess it would also be useful during rain/wet road. my brother told me that having mud guard is a nuissance since it will be harder to clean.

When you decide to install mudguards, you can dismantle it and clean the mounting area every month or so during the rainy season and a longer interval during the summer season. I do my own tire rotation and along with it, the cleaning of the inside face of the tires & rims and the mudguards too (remove, clean, reinstall). A days work, tiring but "satisfaction guaranteed" that it is clean the way you like it. Pressure washing, even underwash, does not remove all accumulated mud and soil on the underside especially on the mudguards' mounting area.

Thank you so much for your reply. I decided to order one. Do you know what is the difference between the genuine one and the carryboy brand? im thinking of buying the cheaper one which is the carryboy but it might not have good material.

i avoid the problem and chore entirely, by not installing the mudguards in the first place. i really see no useful function for it, except to hide dirt and mud. . heh heh. each to his own.

Would be it bothering if the mud/dirt will stick to your sideskirt or somewhere near the tire area?

Guys, do you have any idea how preserve the smell of a brand new innova? well if not, at least an air freshener that is non toxic or cancer causing?
