Naku mukang its the same setup for me! hehehehehe Mukang its an Innova J vvti din. Wifey
wants gasoline since 1 - 2 times a week lang namin siya gagamitin (every monday going to work and weekends visiting inlaws/family day) and a distance of no lessthan 100kms per trip. also we intend to use it for morethan 10 years....Still not 100% on the vvti variant ( deep inside gusto ko parin ng D4D )....help me decide...convince me guys that the VVTi is the ONE.

Some women often complain about the characteristic sound of diesel engines, altough the D4-D is quieter than its predecessors, but it's still a better option for utility vehicles.

Sir kindly elaborate how you arrived at your fuel cobsumption. How did you compute it? What was your speed, traffic condition etc.

If you take care of your diesel engine ( regular PMS) tatagal ito ng more than 10 years. One fine example are the jeepneys. Old school diesel engine pa mga yan.

Yung injection pump, scv and other components will last a long time as long as you maintain it regularly. Hindi mahirap mag maintain ng diesel engine. Regular change oil, change fuel/air filter same sa regular PMS ng gasoline except fir spark plugs kasi wala nyan ang diesel engine.

yung MID ng G ko yun ang reading sir sa average FC eh. speed ko city driving nung nakuha ko yung 17km/L was 60kph na ata pinaka mabilis, shifting gears at 1.8k RPM, traffic condition was light - moderate. range was 24kms one way.

yung sa 18kms/L naman, range was 126km one way. average speed was 80kph. traffic condition was light - moderate too.

Before I was in your situation (gas vs diesel car)!

    My statistics favored the "gas" engine based on;
    -100k price difference of diesel
    -Maintenance
-short distance (20km) for everyday use. Less than 15k km a year.
-gas is more refine in engine performance for a car.
(unless the vibration & sound of a diesel is ok for you)
-a 10k price difference of Fuel every year favored the diesel but can be offset with their initial cost for 10years.

    Hope this will help!

ganito na lang bos...its really up to you kung ano kukunin mo...choose whichever unit your budget will permit..as one TS mentioned, yung durability ng sasakyan either gas or diesel engine depends on the user's maintenance of the car. so since mas mahal ang diesel variant and if you have the budget, go for it..if short ka nman, go for the gas one...ako honestly short ang budget ko kaya i went for the gas variant and i'm satisfied with its performance at sa fuel consumption...if my budget nga lang ako nung kinuha ko to, baka i shifted for the diesel one...yun nga lang, sabi nila if you plan to keep the car 5 yrs and above, go for the gas, if less than 5 years, go for the diesel one..ako balak ko pa nman magpalit before the 5-year period pero short talaga budget ko nun kaya eto na kinuha ko...so its your choice talaga bos for the final decision..

Huwag mo na isipin kung less than 5yrs or more than 5 yrs mo gagamitin. Tatagal yan for sure. Preference mo yan. Follow your hearts desire.

They may have solved that problem. If diesel kukunin mo just follow the regular PMS and choose the gasoline station where you gas up. Doon ka sa hindi binabaha.
