Sir shibby75, does this still occur on the latest models? Planning to get a 2.5G Dsl AT before the month ends actually. If you could shed some light on this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Injection failures eventually happens as the car ages, more like 200k mileage, maybe earlier if dirty fuels are used. Its all on how you take care of your car.

Thanks sir shibby75. I guess it would be wise to have this checked on the 100k maintenance then? Or earlier perhaps?

    Big thanks.
2006 model, leaked last month same spot where most owners experienced leaking. just bought new fuel lid cap fron TQA, will drive later to see if negative pressurization of the tank still persist. replaced gas tank.

How about the leak? You have it repaired? Or replace gas tank assembly?

Mga first gen ang may problema talaga.

I'm still waiting for mine to warp again and leak. Huwag naman na sana.

Replaced filler cap and charcoal canister already.

If you will ask me, it is the old filler cap lang dapat pinalitan mo.

Olus 1 here, replaced my fuel tank, replaced fuel tank lid cap, still popped, next i will drill a smll hole in my original lid cap so that negative pressure will not persist, problem is that i am not sure if it is safe.

Can you post a pic of your new fuel tank lid cap?

If it just the same as the old one, it will give no improvement.

My cousin told me na advise sa kanya ng toyota after a long drive or paguwi sa bahay, buksan yung gas tank para sumingaw daw yung naipon na pressure then close it again. Ganon din before you leave in the morning. Hope this helps.

    Cast no shadow,
sir i did replace the gas tank assy 16k, fuel lid cover 1.5k, still negative pressure persisted, popping of gas tank everytime i twist open the cap lid, wooooshing sound after short drive. I need to replace the charcoal canister. Bnd aid solution - drilled a small hole into the cap and wala no more wooooshing sound , [popping is also gone.. Trying to post the pic but cn't do it. I drilled the original cp, i still use the new one when it rains or just after i parked.
