Ang masakit dyan, Toyota will not issue a recall for the fix although modifications will be made for up coming units. It also will not be covered by the warranty.

Kung regular cleaning and possible replacement of air filter will fix the problem?

I think Toyota Australia noted that it is indeed a design issue/flaw in the intake system that somehow permits dust to enter the engine when passing thru a dusty environment..
hopefully toyota will address this the soonest possible time

Feeling ko affected ang innova since it uses the same 2.8L engine. Swerte mga 2.4l forts sa atin at iba siguro design ng intake nila.
I guess hilux and fort offroaders be warned na lang and have your MAF cleaned regularly.
Hindi naman daw safety concern if car goes to limp-mode acdg to toyota

I think it's the same. Displacement lang difference, so malamang affected din and Innova.

1GD for the 2.8L and 2GD for the 2.4L. Yikes!
