I'm also considering to change my 2wk old GL with fortuner 16" rims + 215/65/r16 tires. Pde kaya yun goodyear wrangler hp aw with load capacity of 98H? Ok din ksi review nya at matagal daw mapudpod. may offer sakin na bridgestone dueler ht 235/60/r16 load 100H, P6.5k /pc.we tested it with the rims, wala naman rubbing.I'm just a bit concerned na baka masyado malapad that could lead to higher FC. What other tires would you recommend? Thanks!

Kung wala naman rubbing, ok na yan kung wider. Mas grippy siya. So mas stable, in a way.

A shop is offering me Goodyear Wrangler HP AW 215/65/r16 at P5k per tire. I'm more inclined to get goodyear over bridgestone since mas maganda feedback/review.what bothers me is the load index of 98H. Would it be good enough loading 11 pax in a GL model? Thanks!

That is a good price, better check the date of manufacture of the tire to be sure its still fairly new stock.

IMO, the load rating should be good enough for a Grandia with the usual passenger load. Its still within light truck standards lest you really pack it up with passengers and cargo at the same time.

    thanks for sharing your insights...
we don't pack it up w/ passengers+cargo at the same time naman.
i think this goodyear tire is 6 ply only, unlike with the stock 8 ply.
    would that be fine?

    thanks!

That should be good, the stock 8-Ply Bridgestones are really built for light trucks carrying a good load already and this contributes to making the ride harsh just as well. If you noticed, the Super Grandia variants use the same Goodyear h/t tires which are 6-ply as well.

Inquire at Toyota. Sometimes they're cheaper for parts like that over the Banawe and tire shops. If not, go around in Evangelista, Banawe, Timog and Cubao P. Tuazon.

We always remove our hubcaps when we go out on long trips up North. Crappy thing about Toyota; spend 1.5-1.6M for the van and all you get are hubcaps.

I guess I have to live with removing the hubcaps entirely because my hiace is in Van-for-rent business which, as usual, go for long trips.

My mother already inquired at the casa and she was quoted P3,900 - per piece

I have yet to inquire at tire shops. Thanks for the advise.

Zip tie it. That's what the taxis do.

Mas mura pa to buy a whole alloy rim than a brand new hub cap from Toyota ah.

Use giant zip ties to secure them or grab a set of Hilux (6 lug?) wheels. They're not so expensive and you can reuse your tires.

I was supposed to do that with ours (hilux 15s) but since we may sell it anytime soon, i decided not to. I was also thinking of the 1st gen LC80 15s (but im not sure about the offset).

The 17s of the Monty Sport look good on the Hiace BTW (in both fitting and design).

thanks for the advice Doc, but i plan on purchasing a 16" fort mags at the very least to bring 'porma' to my Hiace kahit konti.
last week, a guy offered me a bnew 17" fort mags (from 2012 model) set wheels only for a whopping 30K
the price was too steep i had to decline first.

Yep, Fort mags work also. Any six lug IMV wheel works [Hilux, Innova, Fortuner]

Scout around Banawe area, there are lots selling them.
Even car shops in malls like Blade have them.
