Pero oo nga, it looks good for out-of-town excursions, precisely because of the size. My wife has been to the provinces a lot, so marami siyang kwento about which vehicles are good (MB100, Starex, Urvan) and which are downright horrible (Hi-Ace) for such long trips.

Malapad ang Grandia. Makitid tignan ang Commuter. Pero mas maikli nga sila compared to the previous model.

Btw, me Super Grandia na ba?

They have the same width talaga. The black bumpers on the Commuter add to the illusion that it is thinner than the Grandia. Ganyan talaga, 'di ba? If you wanna look slimmer, wear black...

The new Hi-Ace Grandia is really nice. Our Hi-Ace is the older model. Sana mapalitan namin ng Grandia. The Grandia in my opinion is really unique and has a lot of features. Its definitely better than the starex(pang-masa) or the MB (pang-rich). Not only does the Grandia looks great, but the quality is toyota (subok na).

TMPC, in their website, specify four body types for the Hi-Ace. But looking closely, there are essentially two bodies only (notwithstanding any errors from the TMPC website). In Thailand, they also have two body types.

    "Van Wide Body"
    Overall Length (mm) 5380
    Overall Width (mm) 1880
    Overall Height*1 (mm) 2285
    Wheelbase (mm) 3110

"Van Standard Body" same as "Commuter Wide Body" and "Commuter Standard Body"

    Overall Length (mm) 4695
    Overall Width (mm) 1695
    Overall Height*1 (mm) 1980
    Wheelbase (mm) 2570

Sana maglabas din sila ng Hiace na:

    1. Larger Version (Commuter Bus) just like sa Toyota Motors Australia at NZ.
    2. More powerful engine (3.0 liter Turbo Diesel)
    3. Auto Transmission
    4. 4X4
    5. Magwheels
    6. Leather Seating and interior
    7. DVD entertainment system
    8. More speakers (6 speakers will do)
    9. Fog Lamps & Rear window wiper
    10. 14 passenger

    Isn't that a perfect van?!?!

Toyota Phils has a wide body which is called Hi-Ace Grandia. The Grandia is roughly 15% wider than the base-model Hi-Ace Commuter.

Vicoyski, we have one. Malapad talaga ang Grandia compared to the commuter. Even the dashboard is longer. It is almost as wide as the American vans/SUVs.
