The new Hi-Ace Grandia is really nice. Our Hi-Ace is the older model. Sana mapalitan namin ng Grandia. The Grandia in my opinion is really unique and has a lot of features. Its definitely better than the starex(pang-masa) or the MB (pang-rich). Not only does the Grandia looks great, but the quality is toyota (subok na).

may nakita din akong variant ng hiace na commuter body pero 4 captain seat at isang bench type seat ang seating configuration nya. mas maluwag kesa sa commuter. Maron din syang retractable table para pwede magpoker while on long trips.hehehhe...

I guess with this two new variant (Grandia & Commuter), di na kailangan na roof rack to hold additional cargos kasi spacious yung likod.

As with the predecessor 2.4L Commuter DSL, alang space sa likod as in nau-untog yung head mo sa rear glass, thus the need of roof rack.

Does anyone here have the specs for the new commuter variant here sa RP?

Grandia is nice but a bit pricey and am afraid baka di kayanin ng budget so we are considering a lower variant. And also, they carry at least 15 peeps, accdg sa website. Wanted sana to get hold of the brochures so we could at least study the pros and cons. Saka yung interiors sana.

I went to the site ng TMPI pero parang bitin yung mga specs and pics dun, Grandia lang ang madami dun.

just like to get your opinion lang about dun sa performance ng new hiace grandia...

i was just wondering, medyo nagdududa lang kasi ako dun sa 2.5li na engine niya, how on earth is it able to drive such a huge body with that small torque... di ba siya underpowered? ok lang siguro when travelling on plain roads, but how about kung fully loaded ka then, paakyat ka ng baguio or ng tagaytay highlands? di kaya titirik yun? or mabilis mangitim ang usok nun?

maybe there are owners of the new hiace here, kindly share your experience naman, thanks a lot!

i have ridden the wide version of the HIACE. Ok naman ang hatak nya. Considering na puno kami sa van. Naupo ako sa pinakadulo to feel the ride of the Hiace, to my surprise di sya matagtag.

Hi. I've driven th Grandia, and believe me whether its 2.5 or 3.0, the D4D new engine is amazingly powerful and quiet. But bec. the 3.0 variant is a bit larger, be very careful of the blind spots. I got my new Grandia scratched

The D4d actually pumps out pretty good power due to its state of the art design and electronic doodads. It can outpower larger engines from a generation or two ago.

thanks for your reply guys... siguro low speed design ng transmission nito, kaya malakas ang hatak... but kung sa top speed ba, can it outclass the innova or the 2.5li na fortuner?

No current plans. The GL is already comprehensively equipped (ABS/SRS, etc.) and is already being sold at premium prices. Anything more expensive might just bomb in the market place.

And if you have luggage space worries about the Starex, you'll be having a nightmare with the GL as its rear seats cannot be folded to increase luggage space. Only the poverty pack Commuter series has split folding rear seats.

Seatmate offers a conversion like that. Pati yung sidings pinapalitan para mas maganda (bye bye lawanit!). Optional folding table din.

nakasakay narin ako ng bagong hi ace kaya lng ung commuter type... tinanggal un isang bench para mgkaroon ng wider leg room.. dinistribute ang mga upuan evenly
( inabante ung dalawang natirang bench tapos same position ung folding na upuan sa end).. so from about 15 pass capacity naging 11 nalang.. surprisingly di matagtag at di nararamdaman ung vibration ng makina as compared sa old commuter.. malakas pa ang hatak pataas ng kennon road kahit puno.. bale byaheng baguio camiling ung nasakyan ko..

di lng maganda ung itsura parang carton talaga he he he..

bought my grandia last november 2005.
the van was great, engine wise, lakas humatak. sa nlex napapatakbo ko ng 150kmh and even wants more, my only problem is kapag may katabi na bus on overtakes, it shakes the whole van. my other comment, mejo panget yung mga seats, limited and paginclined. i am planning to change the 1st row to a captains chair one of these days.
