Yes sir 3GEMS, it was toture.

I got my SG Aug 2014 and that makes it a little less than 1 yr and & 8 months old. So tires' age are the same I suppose.

They look aesthetically pleasing, I must admit, look much better than what I replaced them with due to the bigger tread pattern. But I don't miss them a bit now knowing how they perform as they age. When they were new, the noise level was tolerable.

In fairness to Toyota, the problem here is the Bridgestone tire and not the van itself. They should really consider not putting them in the Hiace considering those AT tires are fitted in the top of the line variant and now even the LXV is sporting it too. With all the lay-z boy seats, capt seats that they put if the road noise the tire produces makes your ear drums explode, those features mean nothing.

    Magandang Araw

Nakabili kami ng Grandia AT 3.0 last Friday. Matagtag pala ito pag apat lang ang sakay. Tingin ko din kulang sa insulation at rinig mo ang busina sa loob. parang nasa loob ang busina, nagugulat ang pamilya ko. Ganyan din ba ang Super Grandia?

Same issue with me sa matagtag after ilabas sa casa.

Thank you. didnt think of that.

If the SG that you rode was sporting an AT Bridgestone tire and more than 1 yr old or has incurred over 20k kms, I won't be surprised if you heard it too. It's too loud for you to not notice. And if you are sitting in front, you would feel the vibrations as well especially on asphalted and cemented roads.

And if you are riding in it on a long highway drive, you would literally become deaf from the road noise once you have a stopover.
The one i rode had Yokohoma Geolandars and was several months old.

Change all fluids (brake, gear, differential... coolant is not necessary).

    Change fuel filter too.

For tires, try 215s. We use 215/70R15s on our GL Grandia and it is much more stable on the highway but highway efficiency is lower as the tires spin more due to the decreased wheel circumference versus the 195R15 stock tires.

If you have the budget, 225s (similar to the size of a the ones on the Super Grandia)

Check first your tire pressure. Should be around 32-35psi (cold).

The horn sounds louder since you don't have an engine bay to separate the horn unlike in conventional vehicles.

    Good day,

seriously considering the Super Grandia 3.0 - Fabric - Pearl White

Any advise from recent owners of this vehicle?

Aside from the Leather seats and sidings, mags, spoiler, and gps headunit - will I be getting anything else for the extra 155k for the Super Grandia Leather? The wife and kids prefer fabric seats so aside from the savings on the purchase price, will I be missing out on anything else?

Hope to hear from our seasoned Hiace owners soon as I plan on making this purchase in the next 5 days

Buy the variant that makes you happy. It is the top of the line model so it's more of the feeling that you are in a top of the line model. That feeling justifies the cost.

Before I didn't really see why I had to buy the leather variant wherein I can just buy the fabric or the cheaper variant which is the GL. But for 1 yr and 8 months of ownership, I felt that my purchase was worth it. I have the 2.5 SG leather white pearl. I love the leather seats, its overall interior and exterior look. Never had to go to the dealership or Banawe to buy this and that since everything is in there already.

If you will buy the leather variant, better change those front AT tires to HT tires, though. Like what I had posted, they get so noisy as they age. And by age I mean about 1.5 yrs.

    Magtanong lang po.

Does anyone know of a shop that can install an electric motor on the sliding doors to make it power open and close?

*UUE213: Try Atoys. Im not sure how long will it last especially if you love going out of town, your van is full and passengers go in and out endlessly at each stop. My driver side sliding door, the rubber on its roller has worn out already so I put a rubber on its railing that serves as a cushion as to prevent it from producing that annoying rattling sound. Can't imagine, if the sliding doors are automatic, I will have another problem once the mechanical system malfunctions and the door won't open.

    Thanks, have already asked Atoys.

Regarding the Rubber on the roller, I will look out for that.

*jaggerx3: 11 passengers ang SG including driver.

The last row has the bumpiest seats. Ramdam doon ang talbog plus the wheel wells are located on both sides.

Pero wala naman sumasakay doon unless we are on an out of town trip.

Tires play a big part too. Noong pinalitan ko ung 2 front tires ko, the ride even got smoother.

Starex VGT or SG leather, either van for me. Parehong maganda. Ok din sana ung Odyssey, Carnival but I find them too small. Alphard is freaking expensive, Hiace LXV looks like a glorified GL. Ung Ford E150, wala na ata but I never liked the looks of it and konti lang ang seats, gas pa. China made vans... nevermind.hehe

Bili ka nalang ng GMC Savana, sir, para wala ka ng hahanapin pang iba. It will beat all the vans out there.hehe

Request advise from Hiace Grandia/SG owners with back up cameras.

Which back up camera will be better to buy and mount?

Option A: Camera that mounts on the plate light mounting screws (OEM look)
Option B: Camera that will mount under the rear spoiler to get a broader view of the rear (may not present as OEM look)

Thanks in advance for your advise.
