^Roof mount?
We had one in our Starex before but it came free with the unit when we bought it. It swivels down from it's casing on the roof. One concern only is to find a mounting point that doesnt interfere with the A/C.
Got my new GL Grandia last night..... after 1 month of grueling experience isa lang masasabi ko sa mga Toyota Dealers sa Metro Manila... they are all a bunch of dawgs!!! Two dealers told me that my name didn't appear in TFS system when in fact I already had a Fort and an Altis (both only three years to pay) loaned from them only a few years back with no history of late payment ever recorded... They instead offered me bank financing that they accredited that simply offered skyrocketing interest rate.
Now if you walked-in in a bank and got you own approval, chances are they won't give the unit to you... They vehemently and despicably capitalized on low levels of stocks (since Japan has diminished production output since tsunami). Thanks to them my van is 75,000 more expensive than it should be...
But even having said that, I humbly say that I still love my Grandia. I was at the last minute going for a Grand Starex CRDi M/T but instincts told me to go for the Grandia....
Share lang
congrats to your new GL Grandia!
what color did you get?
what made you decide to get the Grandia over the Grand Starex even it's overpriced by P75k?![]()
Extreme black....
These are the things that made me decide: SPACE (you might need an intercom). TOYOTA RELIABILITY. MULTI-PURPOSE. MADE IN JAPAN if i am not mistaken (Jpn lang daw ang supplier sa buong Asia). NOT TOO LUXURIOUS, SWABE LANG. FRUGAL sa Diesel. Manual siya versus the sluggish D4D A/T of super grandia. MAGAAN I-Drive kahit super laki siya, just install back up sensors.
When i read an article sa TOP GEAR May issue written by Jeremy Clarkson, it was a light bulb moment for me. Yes, Korean cars have vastly improved. But somehow there is this unexplained intangible aspect that only a Japanese made car can assert. I test drove the grand starex and despite the high level of comfort, sophisticated interior, powerful engine......... I knew Grandia is my girl...
[QUOTE=brf;1942960]seems you did a good research/comparison between grandia and starex.
how frugal sa diesel?
pics naman!
Kakahintay ng unit nakapagresearch ng hindi oras....
I have yet to check Fuel consumption. Estimated at around 12-15 Km/L.... basta it's way frugal than my monterosport...
There will be 30,000 pesos increase on all Grandia Models. The Commuter will follow suit next month.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
Nope, just pulling down the glove box door po. We were installing additional emergency equipment at this time so we had to dismantle the dash.
Si Otep, galit yan sa mga sasakyang kelangan ibaba yung buong dash para ilinis yung A/C.
I think the Hiace also needs the entire dash removed when the A/C is cleaned. Up to now hindi pa nagagalaw yung Grandia namin (40,000kms). Don't forget to clean the filter also at the overhead a/c.
Vinj magsabi ka ng totoo. Hahaha.
Fog Lamp Time:
Only gripe is the switch is more suited to older Toyota Models (like my '94). Newer models use a rounder edged switch. However, the guys managed to make it work well enough.
Try other brands if you are not to thrilled with the switch.![]()
The oldest Grandia in the fleet is a 2006 model, i think and it doesnt have hot seat issues yet.
There is some heat but not enough to be a bother.
What's up with langitngit of the driver seat whenever i shift?!
How do i solve this?![]()
^As in whenever you move? Grease on the bolts or loose engine bay cover clamps/latch perhaps?
