M/Ts no longer have the advantage they have because they now shift slower in comparison. And whatever power you save in less driveline loss is be negated by the additional ratios that modern automatics have. So from a performance standpoint no sense in getting the M/T.
Yung fact na 4-speed lang karamihan ng A/Ts during 00s was an instant turn-off for me unless wala talagang choice. Like what you said, bukod sa kulang sa gears compared sa manual eh makupad tapos malakas pa sa fuel. As time went on buti nalang naging 5-speed na and above. Plus, karamihan may plus/minus or manual mode na lalo na yung mga new diesels. I think remaining advantages nalang niya ay it's a bit more frugal sa fc tapos pwede itulak at start in case low na level ng battery. Pero imho i think acceptable parin ang manual nowadays as long as malambot ang clutch at maganda ang kambyo.

Both my Lexus and CRV have foot brakes. Nakakamiss yung EPB with brake hold ng Civic ko before, but it’s a minor issue compared to the total package of a car.

Not as big a deal-breaker as, say, Carplay or LED headlamps.

Manual mode na may paddle shifters even faster pa hehe. Napag iwanan na talaga M/T. Even some CV's come with A/Ts now. Look at some of the new Isuzus.

The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport gets a big power bump for 2024 | TopGear PH

For the LTD/Legender and GR Sport, those versions get a larger nine-inch touchscreen that now supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
the top-spec Fortuner punches out 221hp and 550 Nm of torque a gain of 20hp and 50Nm. If those numbers look familiar, it’s the same figures from the Hilux GR Sport that’s now available in Australia.

Toyota Rush GR Sport gets an update for 2024 | TopGear PH

At the front, there’s a new grille that sports a different set of slats. Along with that is a bolder front bumper design and faux skid plate. The fender flares are now painted gloss black, while the rear bumper gets a more unique design over the standard models. Capping off the 2024 changes to the Rush GR Sport are a set of new alloy wheels.
