i think so too. the 2.5L TDIC of the gen 2 pajero was also adequate even though it did not have the hood scoop for the intercooler and, i think, the gen 2 pajero is even heavier than the fortunerOriginally Posted by danbuzz
2.5 D4D Fortuner 102 hp will be underpowered for its size. Fortuner is a heavy vehicle compared to Innova. You can't get any good fuel economy with that.
102 hp hmm... that could be one slow-ass ride hehe. manual ba ito or matic? since in the innova, the manual comes with a 148 lb-ft torque rating, and the automatic with a 192 lb-ft figure (which is probably done in the interest of durability for the manual gearbox)

if it will be a 2.5 liter engine, i think it can haul the body of the fortuner since it is lighter than the 4x4 variant.
why dont they just put the 3.0 diesel...... parang binili mo yung innova din pero iba lang ang damit pag 2.5.....
oo nga eh. iba iba ang sinasabi ng mga toyota dealers. basta ako bumili na ako ng 18" mags and 265/60/R18 tires kahit wala pa unit ko. unti unti ko inorder tires, set of 2 muna then after a month another set of 2 again para di mabigat sa bulsa para pag dating ng unit ko salpak ko agad mags, hehe. medyo bitin kasi ako sa 16" na mags. ok lang sa akin kahit 2.5 or 3.0.
Iba iba ang sagot ng iba ibang dealers, some say 3.0, some say 2.5.
As for the price, and sabi sa akin 1,260,000.00 PHP ang price ng 4x2 Diesel.
Ako naman I'm saving up for engine upgrades, just in case the 4x2 Fortuner does come with the 2.5 engine.
Beebs, assuming the 4x2 comes with the 2.5 engine, I don't think putting on 18's will be a good idea. Lalong makakabagal yun sa future ride mo. Just my two cents bro.![]()
bry, i haven't compared the weight of both the mags/tires of the stock and the mkw-mk18 mags/tires i bought. thanks for the advice. i got the 265/60/18 bridgestone dueler h/p tires, highway profile siya unlike the stock tires. pareho siya ng width and tire diameter with the stock tires. marami ako nabasa sa reviews na maingay ang stock tires ng fortuner sa highway, like the ones i placed before with my adventure, a bridgestone dueler a/t tire. i replaced it with 17" dunlop tires instead. i drive everyday along the south superhighway at high speeds so i'm quite conscious with noises coming out of my car. to all fortuner owners, if ever may spare time kayo, can you provide me the weight of the spare tire you have para ma compare ko lang sa mags/tires i bought. thanks.
Baka naman may price increase na yung 2.5 diesel kahit hindi pa introduce.
sana nga magassemble nalang sila dto, toyota kasi takot na yata magassemble dto because of the strike at the plant last year. cheaper for them to import from thailand.....keep demand greater than supply para pag dating dto ng fortuner, ubos agad.
Hindi ba masmalaki ang profit if they just sell more? The demand will always be the same, kung bibilhin bibilhin, kung hindi hindi.
hay naku, inip na inip na ako sa launching ng fortuner 4x2 diesel. kahit 2.5 liter ok lang, basta ma-start lang ang pag-release nito para umandar na ang pila.
I just drove our Innova again tonight, medyo mahina talaga, consider pa na masmabigat yung Fortuner.![]()
sana nga lumalabas na yun 4x2 na diesel para lumuwag pila sa fortuner gas.
makakapili pa me in say Oct siguro. siguro nag-die-down na yun hype ng Fortuner
by then.
Baka sa darating na Toyota Show ilalabas yung bagong model ng Fortuner.
