Yup. They mentioned mas matindi pa daw sa mitsubishi. They did a few montero na sobrang layo ng power and torque figures from advertised and from other similar spec models. Yun nga lang, sobrang layo in a very bad way. Sobrang baba ng boost kaya baba ng hp nung montero

what i do find curious is that if Toyota Phil claims that our units here are not affected, that means they get the engines from a different factory that was not affected by the scandal and thus was not shut down. So we shouldn't be affected by the supply shortage brought about from the said engine factory. Right?

They also said that with the safety tests from Daihatsu-based vehicles.

methinks they are not affected locally, because we have no local laws involving those parameters.

I'm shocked that Toyota did this. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a Chinese company but Japanese???

"The affected engines produced by Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) are the 1GD, the 2GD, and the F33A. Toyota has released a list of the models equipped with these engines, but engine-code nerds would already know how wide the scope of the problem is as far as the carmaker’s model range is concerned. Potentially affected models that are sold locally are the Fortuner, the Hilux, the Innova, the Hiace, and the Land Cruiser 300."

"“Based on the results of the investigation, TICO decided today to temporarily suspend shipments of the affected engines. Toyota has also decided to temporarily suspend shipments of vehicles equipped with the affected engines,” the statement continues. “Going forward, we will provide detailed explanations to the authorities and promptly proceed with appropriate measures, including conducting testing in the presence of witnesses if appropriate.”"
    but i am wondering,
exactly why, did they feel they had to cheat?
    does anyone have numbers?
