Kaya ko po na tanong ang average speed nyo between this rpm range is parang mabagal na kasi GLI ko. 2k rpm average speed ko is arround 60 kph lng po is it the same as your GLI, and average fuel consumption ko is arround 9-10 Km/L lang. need inputs naman po..

Thanks and more power po sa ating lahat...
Both with A/C in operation. So not so much difference with your FC.
My car clocked 185 kph with A/C running ( Sa Macapagal hiway, hinabol ko ang BMW )

60kph at 5th gear is normal if you shift at very low RPMs (1500 to 2000 RPM), this saves gas and wear and tear on the engine at the cost of speed.

sir, normally sa pagkatanda ko, 2.5K rpm mapapalo mo na sa 80 KPH ang speed mo sa 5th gear. so, not so much of a difference. pa check mo nalang ang clutch mo sir baka meron ng slippage.
normal tune up ng makinang ito is just palit spark plug. ay pa check mo na rin pala ang intake throttle mo. baka marumi na. ang sa akin noon, pinalinis ko ke sir speedyfix. odo ng gli ko, 85K ng mabaha-an ni frank.ngayon, di na rin gumagana and the speedometer is about 20kph slower than actual. kaya ang tantiya ko, around 95K lang ang odo ng gli (ni misis pala )

    Hi to all,

Nag overheat po corolla ko yesterday (4AFE).. I was travelling along araneta ave yesterday when I notice that my temp gauge are rising, so I decided to pull the car to the near by gas station, the temp reading almost heat the red line but the engine did not die.. I pour water to the radiator to make it cold but the temp reading did not go down, so i decided to turn of the engine to make it cold, after 20 min I decided to open the rediator cup start the engine again and add water, the temp start to rise agian so I decided to call a mechanic, finally the culprit was a busted thermostat, luckily celica ( toyota parts supllier) was near by for the parts. After installing the new thermostat it all work well again, my question is what are the thing should I check that might be damage due to this overheating,

    Tnx

sir, nangyari din sa oto ko iyan noon. the culprit was the radiator fan. talagang namatay ang makina ko. but after cooling it down, then replacing the fan, it started ok. la naman damage.
ang sa case mo, its just mild case compared to my expreience. however, just to make sure, try to do the following.

buksan mo ang radiator cap. have someone crank the engine. obserbahan mo kung me tumatalsik na cooling water coming from the opening of the radiator. if so, nadale ang cylinder head gasket ng makina. kung wala, no need to worry about. most damage occuring after an overheated engine ay ang cylinder head gasket, except kung patay talaga ang makina, then buhusan ng malamig na tubig ang radiator (dahil wala na cooling water), may delikado na mag crack ang engine block. kaya, di ina-advise na buhusan agad ng tubig ang radiator (fill it up) pag nag overheat ang makina. palamigin muna bago lagyan ulit ng tubig ang radiator.

i would like to know po what are the best/ideal brands/specs po para sa mga sumusunod.....

    BATTERY
    SPARK PLUG
    ENGINE OIL
    GEAR OIL
    OIL FILTER
    OIL SEAL
    BELTS (a/c, alternator, timing)
    BREAK PADS
    SHOCKS

hindi lang po para sa akin ito, para na rin po sa ibang mga nagmamay-ari ng TOYOTA COROLLAs specially yung 10year old pataas.....

'92 4AFE ko (A/T) has 191k kms on the odo. 6kms/liter consumption ko, purely city driving. Medyo malakas na manginig yung engine, and not as responsive as it used to be. Feeling ko kailangan na ng top overhaul... Any reliable but affordable places for overhaul?

battery: motolite na green, maintenance free

    spark plug: denso

engine oil: hi-grade oil ng petron (dyan lang naman kasi ako nagpapa change oil ). would have tried using other brands but so far, 10 years na sa akin ang gli, ok naman ang takbo using ordinary oil. yun nga lang, dapat ang change oil sked dapat masunod.

gear oil: yung sa petron na rin. pina-pa check ko gear oil tuwing mag pa change oil ako

    oil filter: any brand

oil seal: so far di pa ako naka pag palit ng oil seal

belts: what is available sa auto supply. meron ako listahan dati ng mga belt sizes ng gli sa glove compartment pero nasira ng mabaha ni bagyo frank

brake pads: just bought one from auto supply. dala ko lang sample kasi marami pala klase iyan. so far, ok naman. just changed mine last summer.

shocks: di pa ako naka palit. pero parang kelangan na kasi iba na ang tunog tuwing malulubak.

And most important of all: Folks, dapat lagi nyo check ang rubber boots sa CV drive. pag me punit iyan, papasukin ng buhangin, todas ang bearings nyo.

Fuel: lagi karga ko is petron XCS (utang kasi )

So far, ang tune up ko is just palit spark plugs. have done intake throttle cleaning way back 5 years before. till now, ok pa rin. ang aircon lang sa akin ang lagi nagluluko. pero ng mapaayos ko last december, till now ok pa rin.
    hope this helps
