Hi tsikoteers! bago lang ako dito pero i've been lurking these pages for months na... anyway i'm a new owner of a '94 AE101 GLi model. Got it from an officemate for 100K only with 85k on the ODO - lang daya (1st owned nila, dami sasakyan)

Share ko lang experience ko this week. While driving sa highway samin dito sa probinsya namin bigla nalang namatayan ako ng makina... ayaw talaga mgstart so pinatow ko at dinala namin sa toyota CDO.

Initial diagnosis ng casa is sira daw yung Distributor Assembly go - gutay2x at melted na daw ang mga wirings so nagpaquote ako ng price (although alam ko na taga yung presyo but just wanna know) - ewan ko kung anong nakain sa service advisor at yung quote for the distributor assembly is Php49,500 - WOW! Kesyo daw genuine part at may warranty.

agad pinul-out ko yung sa casa at dinala ko sa talyer ng kakilala ko which is like 3km away from the casa. Only to find out yeah may tama ang Casa - sira yung distributor but yung sira is yung rotor lang na parang plastic (brittle na) tapos yung parang shaft sa luob daming dumi causing it not to spin and create current.

Total cost - 600Php
300Php for the part
200Php for labor + pa-tow
100Php tip sa mekaniko kasi dineliver pa yung sasakyan sa office ko.

wala talaga akong masabi sa Casa. Pano sila nakakatulog?

Because on top of the fact that the Casa charges a premium, they also don't repair damaged parts. They replace the entire assembly.

anyways... mga sirs question lang, when replacing the timing belt ano pa dapat palitan? the belt itself, tensioner? how much would the parts cost kaya?

Kung di naman kailangan palitan, no need. ang bubuksan lang naman niyan pag nagpalit ka ng timing belt is ang plastic cover sa harapan ng makina. tiing belt replacement will take you 1 hr, the most.

Yung 93 gli ko, pinalitan ko nang water pump noong 2003. original surplus ang ikinabit ko, till now going strong pa.
yung 4K engine ko, pinalitan ng water pump noong 2000, original replacement parts, 2006 bumigay na.

Isa sa mga ipina-ayos ko noon is yung oil leak sa distributor. pina-machine iyon tapos fit ulit. now OK na.
Pero till now, di pa rin gumagana central locking mula ng mabaha-an ni Frank 2008

Mga expert sa AE101, ask ko lng po anu po ang average fuel consumption nyo sa 4AFE engine, whats your average speed at 2k rpm and 3k rpm.. Is true na ndi na daw pina pa tune up ang 4AFE kasi electronics na. Kaya ko po na tanong ang average speed nyo between this rpm range is parang mabagal na kasi GLI ko. 2k rpm average speed ko is arround 60 kph lng po is it the same as your GLI, and average fuel consumption ko is arround 9-10 Km/L lang. need inputs naman po..

Na-overhaul na ba makina mo? Maybe it needs a top overhaul at least kung di pa blowby. Have a compression test done. On the 2E engine I get 10 Kms/L without aircon hehe... ganyan talaga pag old engine. Don't compare it to newer ones kasi they have new tech in it like VVTi.
