I wanted to applaud at first but I had a nagging feeling we were shortchanged here for the hybrid warranty by Toyota Philippines. I looked around and, lo-and-behold, Toyota USA Gives an 8 year warranty and Toyota Australia gives a 5 + 5 (Total of 10 years) as long as you keep the car "casa maintained"
https://www.toyota.com.au/-/media/ma...ions.pdf?la=en
So, I'm left scratching my head, why did they do it like that? Why not at least give PH similar to Australia where you could have an extension of the hybrid system warranty provided it is serviced by Toyota. Even a 5 + 3year warranty would have been nice I think.
My two cents.
EDIT: 5 years/200,000kms for Toyota Hybrid System for TOYOTA PH
Toyota Australia 5 + 5 (unlimited kms) <- needs annual hybrid health check done by Toyota AUS to maintain the warranty extension
Toyota USA 96 months/100,000miles (160,000kms)
Added in edit dr d. Hehe!
Toyota PH 5 years/200,000kms
Toyota USA 8 year/160,000kms <- added note, I found this under 2018 Toyota Prius Warranty pdf file. So I am assuming this is the norm in the USA since way back when because of the battery.
Toyota Australia 5 years + 5 years unlimited kms subject to some conditions but they are related the PMS and Annual Hybrid check by Toyota AUS
Yuck bakit ganun yung infotainment?!?! Not to mention, walang Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
Hindi rin ma utilize yung Safety Sense, since most will go for the 1.6 G/V variants.
Bitin din yung safety sense kahit sa hybrid, walang pedestrian detection, for example.
As of August pala, all Fortuners have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
This is a slap to Altis' potential buyers.
Lol Toyota PH.
Eh mas pang lolo Fortuner kesa Corolla. I don't get their logic.
Civic and mazda 3 ba merong android auto at apple carplay?
Kung wala, doesnt make sense din sa toyota to put one YET sa altis.

because they feel, it won't make a significant dent in sales figures, whatever they put in there?
because it won't cost any less or any more?
because it will cost the manufacturer more, if they decide to pull it out and put in something else?
manufacturers will consider anything, if it can result in lower cost of manufacture.
who knows what the bean counters said, or what deal toyota cut, with the accessory supplier...
if i may,
toyota does not care too much about what toys they put in their cars, because they know that the product will sell.
May sense ba kunin yung Hybrid? Mababawi mo ba yung almost 500k na price difference niya sa top of the line version ng gas model ng latest Altis?

This may help.

“For those who want to know the breakeven point, the Corolla Hybrid only begins to make sense if you happen to travel more than 71,178 kilometers in a 3-year period or 11,178 more kilometers per year than the non-hybrid. Either that, or if gas prices go up to P 96.71 per liter.”

My main problem with that assumption from Uly is that he only used highway figures when regen of hybrids doesn't really work when you are not using the brakes much.
But, we don't have the testing for city yet done by any reviewer for city driving so I can't really complain much as they were all assumptions for that part.
I would also like to add, we need to (at least) put a price tag on Toyota Safety Sense to see how "different" the price is from the TOTL 1.6 Gas Altis. So it is 1.185million (no TSS) vs 1.580million (with TSS).
I'm honestly on the camp of wait and see for now, plus a test drive.
I'd like to see somewhat the extreme conditions we get here for city driving, average speed of around 11-12kph only to a high of 13kph average. What would also be the FC of the 1.6 vs the Hybrid in those stop and go conditions.
My brother owns the 1.6VVti altis and in those conditions, he can only get around 6km per liter max. Granted it is the non-Dual Vvti engine but I'm assuming it will be similar for the Dual VVti and not exceed 6.5km/l. What would the hybrid get in that regard, especially since it can regen in stop and go traffic? That would be an interesting discussion.
