I'm planning to buy my first car soon. However, i'm really torn between my options, Corolla Altis 1.6V, Nissan Sylphy 1.8v and Honda City VX. All are current models.

    I am considering the following:

    1. We are 6 in the family, one of which is a 6 yr. old girl. I was actually thinking of a Fortuner, but it's too much for my budget and I don't think all of us will ride the car most of the time. So I'm considering a sedan.

    2. I want to call it as my personal car.

    3. I want to use the car for adventures, if possible.

    4. Fuel efficiency

    5. Looks and comfortable ride

    6. Maintenance costs

I am considering Altis as my top choice but it seems that it lack technology inside. That's why I also considered the Sylphy 1.8 variant. It has all the specs! But my problem is, can i use the looks and presence of the Sylphy in going to Baguio or for adventures? Coz, it seems that it looks more of a professional car (i am actually a professional). Also, I don't have ideas on the parts prices of Nissan and how frequent should the pms be.

I considered Honda City VX since it has a lot of tech features.

    Help me please!

A Sedan will not fit a family of 6. Think you need an MPV or SUV. Your 6 year old will require adult space because of a child seat (for safety). If I may suggest, please consider an Innova. It will sit 7 people comfortably. It has two front airbags and ABS for safety. Never mind all the other bells and whistles unless you can afford other expensive models. Personal car? Yes. For adventure?Definitely. Fuel efficiency? The diesel variant should provide you this. Looks and ride comfort? Very good. Maintenance cost? I have an innova and will vouch for the ease of maintenance. I have an Altis as well and my family of five (extended) sometimes gets the under portion scratched from elevated portions of a driveway or humps or something similar. The innova has a higher clearance. Pardon the bias as Im happy with mine.[emoji4]

The Sylphy has the same presence as the Altis, both are large compact sedans. I don't see where you can go with an Altis/City that you can't go with a Sylphy.

The 1.8L Sylphy is really great value for money at 998k plus discounts of about 60k. For under 950k, you get a car with leather seats, HID headlamps, and many other features that no other cars in its price range have.

To be fair though, the Altis V also has pretty large discounts (30-40k) so you can get it for under 1M. It has Bluetooth and push-button ignition, but still no leather or HID.

The Altis V with stock 16" rims also looks ordinary compared to the Sylphy 1.8 which stands out with its 17" rims. You'd have to upgrade your Altis if you want a classier looking car, which is another 50k you'd have to spend (plus 15k more if you get lowering springs).

The City has a lot of features for under 900k, but isn't in the same league as the Altis or Sylphy. It doesn't have the same space (especially elbow room) so it's not as comfortable for 5 (or 6, in your case). Highway stability (pretty important if you go out of town a lot) is not up to par with the bigger compacts as well. And it definitely doesn't look as classy as either of the 2.

If you wanna get the most value for money, get the Sylphy 1.8. Nissan is offering huge discounts because noone's buying the Sylphy since everyone's flocking to buy the Altis.

Is that the standard design? Did you give downpayment first? How long did it take them to finish?

I saw a nice looking 2.0 today (I rarely see one). I couldn't put my finger on what made that Altis guapo then my best friend (who has zero interest in cars) pointed out that the "black mags" are really nice. All the while I thought the 1.6 and 2.0 had the same design of mags

Now I am wondering if I should get a nice set of mags. It really does so much to make the car guapo. I kind of regret getting the most popular color of the Altis

The 2.0 V has 18 inch Rims. Jut replaced his stock with an 18 inch set of rims. Talagang maganda tingnan. Wala lang ako budget, gusto ko rin sana.

Plus 1 here doc. As soon as I get to a red light or a traffic flow stop, Neutral kaagad. There is no point keeping it in D when you are not moving.

It didn't make your car matagtag? I love the soft ride of the Altis.

A few days ago I passed skyway and I had no idea I was cruising at 120 I thought I was only running at 80. I am starting to love my Altis again

The blower I insisted with Pasig for them to replace the blower but they kept on replacing the compressor. 3 compressors replaced ha! Bicutan only replaced the blower. I also sent them a video of the AC with no air coming out of the vents.

BUT I still need to have the temp sensor adjusted or auto climate checked, I think there is still something wrong, it is not sensing the temp accurately. .
