With all due respect, i dont think mas magaan ang weight nito otherwise di ito magiging stable sa high speed.
Better yet consider the 1.6L variant if you want a better FC and but not the 2.0L :-)

The Gen 3 Vios is lighter than the Gen 2. It uses stronger steel to save weight. It's not farfetched that Toyota will apply the same principle to the next Corolla.

LOL. Weight has nothing to do with stability in high speeds. If it did, that's like saying the likes of Lotus cars aren't stable.

Fuel consumption doesn't just factor engine displacement although it is a major factor. For example, the 1.6L 2006 Mazda3 has the same general FC as the 2.0L variant. In fact, many criticized it to be more of a fuel guzzler than its 2.0L brother

This is good news! Will definitely check this one when they release it! Am looking at the Altis and the new Mazda 3 for a possible second car. Anyone here knows how much this will cost for the 2.0L, if they will release this variant? Thanks for the info, sir Retz!

Wow finally they upgraded the transmission! The Toyota CVT is actually nice, very smooth which is what Altis buyers prioritize anyway.

Pricing isn't much higher than the current one. This is great.

Saw the Altis deliveries in SLEX yesterday. Can't believe the blue one is a 1.6G variant only. Yet it looks so upscale already!!! :D

    Nice one TMPH!

Great to see the transmission upgrade (finally!). Prices went up by roughly 20K per variant.

actually 1st time ng Toyota locally. Hindi rin wide spread sa line up nila ang CVT unlike say, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Subaru.

Ooops! Sorry, yes. CVT din nga pala yun. But still di wide spread ang CVT sa line up nila like other makes. Mortality rates is still unknown. Since it is fairly new.

Hmm, parehas kaya CVT gamit nila ng Subaru, since Toyota owns I think 15% of that company?

Anyway, kung maisipan nila ermats palitan un sasakyan nila nito MT siguro kukunin nila. Power windows at side mirrors lang sana un E trim

Yung white (I am assuming E) hindi pa naka mags? Yung Gen 10 E ba hindi rin mags?

It makes me think if I should get an AT, hindi pa pala tested ang CVT ng Toyota

OT: Gen 2 City may problema sa CVT diba?

Based on the front wheel well to bonnet height the white unit looks like an Avanza CMIIW.

Accdg to this site Aisin is Toyota's CVT supplier: Toyota teams up with Aisin AW for volume production while Nissan, Mitsubishi Motors and Fuji Heavy I - MarkLines Automotive Industry Portal

They are pushbelt type: Toyota K CVT transmission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Steel belts according to this vid:
AISIN AW - Compact CVT : DigInfo - YouTube

IIRC the gen 2 City had pull-type rubber belts and the initial batch had incorrect transmissions fluids.
