Hi guys, need your advise sana.. I'm planning to upgrade my '14 Vios E MT with either Altis G MT or City VX. I'm a bit confused kasi exterior I would go for the Altis while interior sa City ako. I had a test drive last week with the City and okay naman ung acceleration plus ang daming added features. My wife also wanted the City pero I'm leaning more sa Altis kasi it's still a class higher. Sa office naman, I had a small survey and majority goes to City kaya nagulat ako! Fuel consumption might be the same or City has the slight edge. I haven't driven the Altis kasi out of stock sa Toyota Manila Bay last Saturday. I might try next week sa other dealership.. But anyway, if you had been in the same scenario before, I'd like to hear your inputs and comments... Will be getting my new car next month pagbalik ng sister ko from US.Thanks!

I was a passenger in a brand new City mga several weeks ago. Pronounced ang lagabog sa lubak. Have a two day old altis, ride is not heavenly but much better than the city in my opinion. But don't take my word for it, try to have a test drive of the altis for your own comparison.

Will try to test drive an Altis this weekend.. Although ang problem kasi sa test drive is limited lang ung route nila. Gusto ko din sana makakuha ng inputs sa mga owners. Thanks sir for the response.

I've seen your Altis and since your rims look aftermarket, it looks much better with a 1" drop. No need for kits.

I agree with mda though, a ducktail would be nice. Personally, I find the ducktail of the 2.0 to be too large. Will wait for a smaller ducktail, similar to what the Mz3 2.0 has.

Thinking of putting a maxspeed 1.5 drop. What's your thought bout it?

To each his own. I prefer OEM look because I'd rather not drop, because I pass roads like these occasionally:

    imageuploadedbytsikot-forums1437404490.288472.jpg

A 1.5" drop isn't extreme yet, but too low for me. That will reduce your ground clearance by 38mm (from 150mm, that's a 25% reduction). My car is only about 5mm off the ground in my garage's ramp so any lower and I'll surely scrape my front bumper's underside.

But again, if you really want it, go for it. I would suggest to look for someone with a 1.5" drop on his 11th gen to see how it looks first. Here's a sample from the internet:

Looks good (because his rims look really good on his white Altis).

Yes, 1 year pa lang sir and honestly hindi ako ganung kasatisfied with Vios.. Okay naman for daily drive pero parang may kulang. Sakto lang na pabalik na yung sister ko so may instant buyer na ako. I'm looking for a better ride and may approval na din ni bossing. hehehe

If you don't mind driving a manual, get the Altis G.

On paper, the City has more toys. Useful toys too - Bluetooth, push button ignition, a fancy touch screen HU, lots of 12V sockets, etc.

But what's not so evident on paper is the Altis' size advantage. The City has the same legroom as the Altis, but the latter has much better elbow room, which makes seating 3 in the back quite comfortable even on a long drive.

The power delivery of the Altis is also better - more torque at low rpm, while still having enough grunt at high rpm. The City on the other hand has most of its power only in the upper rev ranges, so it's a pretty docile car in normal driving. FC is roughly the same.

This is highly subjective, but the Altis is much, much classier than the City. At the end of the day, the Altis is a compact and the City is a subcompact. To people like me, it still matters a lot.

I agree sir that the Altis is more premium or classier compared to the City (personal opinion) that's why I'm leaning more on this one.
In terms of power / acceration, which is faster from 0 to 100? Have you tried sir or any idea? Sa City kasi parang may slight delay nung ngtry ako.. not sure if its because of the CVT.. pero ok naman pag umandar na. mas gusto ko talaga ung MT kaso entry level lang ung MT ng city. Sa touch screen naman, worry ko is baka hindi tumagal or if masira masyadong mahal ipaayos or maybe palit ung whole HU.

Nakakainip sobra. But trying to keep an average of 20 km/L was my motivation to drive that slow. Of course, I won't do it every time I'm on the highway, but at least I've satisfied my curiosity on whether it can really do 20 km/L or not.

i like bro.... but apparently, wala kang traffic na dinadaanan.
ako kasi, i usually drive at around 90-100 kph from alabang using the skyway.... pag baba ko sa amorsolo, tiklop na.... at the same time going home, pag dating ko sa commerce avenue to las pinas, around 15 kph na lang ang takbo ko dahil sa traffic.....

best FC i got was 15 kpl... 10.5G Altis M/T.... early sunday morning. las pinas to malolos, bulacan.

Yes bro, this is purely highway driving. Actually natraffic ako sa Dinalupihan, as well as sa Balintawak, but that was a total of 15 min (2 km) out of over 3 hrs of driving (255 km). Also, SCTEX is very bad for eco runs - too hilly, you use too much energy on the uphill, without much savings on the downhill. My average dropped from 20 km/L to 19 km/L after the SCTEX leg, it just improved again in NLEX. If purely NLEX driving (Balintawak-Dau-Balintawak) at 80 kph, I think 22 km/L is possible.

On regular highway driving though (100 kph on NLEX, SCTEX, OG Road and Roman Highway), I get around 16-17 km/L. Here's a more comprehensive summary of my consumption:

    dsc_0004.jpg

Went on for about half an hour of 80-100kmh driving then medyo boring na so medyo rumatrat na ng onte, ayun balik sa 17-18km/l at 120-140kph
