1.6G A/T in silver, medium silver, or beige is what we need.

Cubao told me they have black.

They are saying by March, CBU unit supplies will normalize.

Hehe. As for us, its the other way around. They have stock of the E in white and beige while the black we want will hopefully be available this March as well.

We're putting down a order for a 1.6E 6-speed and the problem i have is the availability of the color i want (black). Looks like there's a shortage on stocks a since the dealers are scrimping on discounts; 10K is their standard now versus the usual 30K to 50K we could get before.
Sa ibang Toyota dealers, no discounts at all for the Altis. I might as well wait for March/April if i need an Altis, 1 month na lang, sayang 30K-50K discount.

Madami din nakapila at naghihintay. Siguro Sept or year end bago bumalik yung ganoong kalaki na discount.

Yung Eco indicator yes on and off lang.

When you hear the sound, you're already on full stop? If yes, try fully depressing the brake pedal and observe if it still continues to be depressed and check your brake fluid level. You might have a leak.

If you hear the whistling sound while moving and braking, have your pads checked. It might be worn out already.

Though usually, when the car was parked for a long period of time and after a carwash or rain, there's a slight sound but it only lasts afetr a few braking action.

Try having your brakes cleaned first.

What's the maintenance schedule of the ZR engine? Does Toyota implement a 10,000km change oil interval or is it still a 5,000km affair?

AFAIR, with the older models using the ZZ engine (starting with the 9th gen) they first did a 10,000kms service interval which was specified on the owner's manual but when the sludge issue came about, the recommended service interval became 5,000kms (which is the "severe" conditions change oil interval).

    hi sirs
i need your inputs with regard to this: Last sunday while i was driving my corolla (10th gen, 1.6g) here in iloilo, when i stepped on the brakes, i heard a rattling sound - i dunno how to describe exactly the sound, but i felt vibrations and rattling underneath and then the "abs and brake" indicator on the instrument panel lit up, I presumed the "anti - lock braking system (abs)" got engaged which i found to be abnormal as i was driving on a "stop and go" traffic.
I went to the casa here, hooked the car to their computer, road tested it and found nothing, they just told me that they have already "deleted" perhaps the error readings on the car's computer and i will have to observe it it will recur, they told me that perhaps the sensor was "nadumihan" of some sort..
What is your take on this guys? is it normal? does it happen? maybe a glitch? thanks in advance..

That's what I like about the Corolla Altis, comfortable and pretty easy to drive too.

Vinj, swap sa FD ? :D

Kung may pera lang talaga. 1.6E, ok na sakin yun. Actually kahit 2nd hand 1.6E. Haha !

    Hala, tumatanda ka rin?

FD? Pass! Tigas pa ng upuan sa likod when i rode one some time ago. He's demanding Honda to buy it back from him (at fair price naman) if the problem goes back one more time. :D

Yeah, the seats of the FD are really stiff ! Last year, nung nasira yung engine support at tensioner ng FD ( the odo was around 55k palang yata ) we had to pay 21k ! Hahahaha.

Kaya beater na talaga yung FD ngayon ( has clocked 63k kms since Dec. 2007 )

Actually, kahit yung 2008 release. Ever since nagandahan talaga kami dun. Ang laki kasi ng pinagbago from the 9th gen. Parang na-relive yung Bigbody days. Tapos nung we had a chance to check it out personally sa Toyota showroom ( gamit yung FD of course para kunwari bibili talaga. hahaha ! ) nagulat kami how comfortable it is inside and how large the trunk is.

One gripe pa ni erpats sa FD is yung engine bay, sobrang sikip kasi unlike the Altis it's really HUGE. So it's easier to clean.

Oh well. :rofl01:

Makataya nga ulit ng lotto sa linggo.

Ako naman always automatic ang AC, and almost always at 28 degrees except sa tanghaling tapat or nabilad sa araw. Kapag ganon set muna at 25 magma maximum yung blower for a few minutes then minimum kapag na about na yung temp. No unpleasant odor yet, although there is a different smell when you turn off the AC and leave the blower on. Ginagawa ko to minsan pag malapit na sa destination, off the AC and maximum blower, presumably to dry out the moisture inside.

Also did the 15k check up a month ago, currently at 16k mileage, one year last Apr. 16. Expected to increase mileage to 22-30k a year because of the longer distance to work.

    Some issues pending so far:
    1. The pillar trim rattle is still there
    2. Squeaking on the steering wheel column
    3. Trunk lid opener in the driver's side not working intermittently
    4. There is now a soft kalampag in the rear suspension area in uneven road surfaces

These are all to be scheduled for check up and repair (will claim under warranty), hard to find timing as the car is a daily driver.
    .
FC is at 12-13+ km/li, using full tank measurement, though the computer FC does not vary by more than 1km/li. Estimated 70/30 highway/city driving.

Aside from these, performance is still great and very happy with the car.
