Reservoir should not be full to the brim (or even close), otherwise it will just spill out during vehicle operations. With a cold engine, notice if the level is between F and L then this is perfectly fine. You will notice that the level in the reservoir will go up to near "F" after the vehicle has been used on a trip.

In terms of costs, it would makes sense for Toyota to simply use the lowest costing oil for every new engine assembled.

The TGMO 15W-50 (not 40) is semi synthetic. Its double the cost of mineral oil.

You can buy Honda repacked 10W-30 from Honda casa or 5W-30 by MAG 1 (more expensive). Both are mineral oil. Find a Toyota dealer/casa that would allow the use of such during the PMS.

It doesn't indicate in the manual but the 1,000 kms PMS is listed in the warranty booklet. You need to follow that schedule so that Toyota can honor the warranty agreement.

Tried out a 1.6E in the showroom. The clutch feels heavy or its not as light as those on the Civics (EG, EK).

Yung mga nagpa ayos ng rattling sa A pillar, how long did it take the casa to finish the job?

Would you recommend that I have the casa fix it or just leave it that way? I don't have to pay anything for that, do I?

At oo, walang babayaran.

^Thank you so much! Because of your advise I will push through with having the rattle fixed.

I'm kind of wondering why the Service Advisor that I called told me that they will finish around 3 or 4 pm if they start working on my car at 7 am - that's 7 hrs.

Hindi ako binigyan ng touch up paint when I first got the car kasi sabi ng Sales Advisor ko they don't give out touch up paint anymore. I shouldn't pay for that either dba? Yung Sales Advisor ko kasi mabait. Kahit matagal ko na nabili yung car ko, he is still very accommodating to me. Yung Service Advisor - no comment.

Ano style niyo so they work on your car faster??? Pwede ba panoorin?

Based on my experience, 1.5 to 2 hours usually ang tinagal ng PMS for 1K and 5K kms, on a weekend morning.

Not all casas are the same; some are okay, but some also leave a lot to be desired for.

As for touch-up paint, wala na nga silang binibigay. Solution? Kung black o white (not the pearly one) yung Altis mo, hindi naman siguro masyadong mahahalata yung touch-up.

Yun nga kinaiinis ko kasi bakit naman 8 to 9 hours aabutin (7 am to 3 or 4 pm ang estimate) Generous na 2 hrs for PMS plus 2 hrs to fix the rattle. Let's say 1 hour to check the steering. Total of 5 hrs lang yun. Considering na weekday pa tomorrow.

Question lang po, which kind of oil yung pinalagay ninyo (synthetic or mineral), and saang casa po kayo nagpagawa? Mukhang happy kasi kayo so the service must have been really good. Hehehe

It took them 7.5 hrs to finish the job (PMS and fix rattle). Mas mabilis ata sa ibang casa. They put 5W40 oil at P615 per bottle. Fully Synthetic ba yun? Total cost of the 5k PMS = P3000.

Hindi nakita yung pag tanggal ng rattle kasi they don't allow it daw. Change oil lang daw pwede panoorin pero I left the car na rin kasi I brought it there 9 am tapos hapon na daw matatapos.

You can actually DIY your rattle:
    1. Gently pull down the weather strip

    2. Insert some foam or thin rubber strips in between the plastics and the metal frame of the car. Do this from the headliner all the way down to where the A pillar meets the dash.

    3. Then push back the weather strip firmly.

    4. Test drive... and repeat if necessary

I fixed my own A-pillar rattle with these steps. Took me under an hour. The casa is asking me to leave my car the whole day with them to fix this rattle which I have no time to do, so I did some research and fixed it myself . However, I believe the casa would detach the entire A-pillar and not just insinuate foam in between. Rattle will be solved either way.

I also have some tips in solving the B-pillar/ seatbelt mount rattle and the brake booster/pedal rattle (which I think a lot of us have but don't realize it).
