    Hello Fellow Tsikot Members,
Mag-inquire lang ako sa inyo mga experts.
Ang ride ko is a Toyota Corolla GLi 95,
wala kasi sya thermostat before nuong binili ko, then after some tym, i decided na lagyan ko nalang,
kasi ang tagal magpainit ng engine lalo na sa morning, so bumili ako and pinalagay ko sa mechanic,
then nung tinest na after installation, ang nangyari, napansin ko na tumutulo yung sa radiator reserve,
i removed the tube and yun, may steam like na lumalabas sa tube, i opened up the radiator cap,

Didn't this happen before when you have not installed a theremostat? What was the temp reading of your car with the thermostat?

Baka mataas yung thermostat setting na naikabit mo kaya sumobra naman mag init yung makina mo. Alam ko kasi yung thermostat nagdi-dictate ng bukas at sara ng aux fan mo depending on the setting nung thermo.

Nope, didn't happen before nung walang thermostat,

It means that the thermostat will open when water reaches 82 deg. Di kaya masyadong mainit na? Kung gusto mo talagang may thermostat, try mo yung mas mababa pang temp rating.....

Are you using water with no coolant?

Who removed the thermostat before and why?

DOnt take the word of the mechanic outright and get a second opinion just as well.

82 degrees is already very low. I have a Japanese market thermostat that's set at 86 degrees. Most current cars have thermostats set at 96. So there's no problem with your thermostat.

Change your radiator cap first. It's possible that it's releasing coolant even at the very low temperatures your thermostat is set at. That may mean the spring is worn.

If there are no bubbles and no oil film is building up in the radiator, then it's not such a big problem. If there are, best to have a compression test done to ascertain the damage.

Gusto ko kasi sya lagyan ngayon, early in the morning ako umaalis for work, matagal magpainit ng engine ng ganung time.

Cge mga sir, tinake note ko mga comments and suggestions nyo, ill post some updates nalang. salamat po.

Other comments and opinions are still welcome, baka may iba pa na naka-experience ng ganitong scenario.

    1. cold engine, remove the radiator cap.
    2. Have someone start the engine.
    3. Observe the water level on the radiator.
Pag di gumalaw, ok ang cylinder head gasket mo. Pag me tumalsik na tubig sa radiator opening, me tama na cylinder head gasket mo.

IMO, pwede mo na alisin ang thermostat if so desired. Kung pag painit lang ng makina ang problema mo sa umaga, just start the engine, after a minute or so start the car slowly, say around 20 kph. this way, you can easily build up the engine temperature, plus meron ka pa mileage, kumpara sa warm up na talagang zero mileage. Just iwasan mo lang to rev up the engine or tor ace the engibne while it is still cold. Do not exceed 3K rpm.
BTW, normal temperature sa 4AFE is just below the medium line sa temperature indicator, with a/c running.
