The two vehicles are very different. They do not share anything in common.

One is truck-based (Fortuner), the other is car-based (MDX).

Lexus is the luxury brand of Toyota while Acura is to Honda and Infinity for Nissan. In Japan, it is only either a toyota (although toyota has begun populating the scene here with their lexus brand--pero the japanese buyers know better), Honda or Nissan. Either way, it is only a marketing approach and the vehicles are nearly all the same (except, perhaps, for engine sizes -- between the US and Japan versions).

In the US, Toyota has another brand, Scion, which markets the Xa and Xb which is known here as the Ist and Bb, respectively.

here's what i know and correct me if i'm wrong: the 4Runner/Prado/GX470 is not the same as the Fortuner.

*2002- Toyota announce the IMV project -Int'l Multipurpose Vehicle- to spawn a pickup, a van and an SUV. fast forward 2004-05 and we have the Hilux/Vigo, Innova and Fortuner.
*the Prado, where the USDM 4Runner (Hilux Surf in Japan?) is based, does not share its chassis and platform with the Hilux (right?)
*so then the 4Runner and Fortuner are not related.

the fortuner is 1 inch longer and 3 inches higher than the 4runner (though their length and width are almost the same).

body magkaiba. seating capacity, might be the same -- 7 seater. ang major na pagkakaiba is the engine and the drivetrain (4wd). and, most probably, leather seats na.

Ano kayang mga features ang aalisin ng Toyota para maging attractive ang presyo nito? Ala Montero ang sukat nito diba? Mas malaki sa mga mini SUVs tapos mas maliit naman sa gen 2.5 na Pajero?

i still can't get over it...the third row(innova/fortuner) is just too cramped compared to the earlier revo. i always seem to end up in the third row pa naman Bp
