I think the Fort is a pretty good choice. Toss up between Fort V or Everest Titanium depending on priorities. The Fort looks the best (by far) among all PPVs.
Also, drivetrain is adequate. Space is adequate. Features are liveable. Dealer network is best in class. Resale value top notch. Long term parts availability is assured.
The Rush also offers a similar value proposition, although personally not a big fan of the budget MPV market.

The thing with turbodiesels is that even a low powered one like the old Innova 2.5 still feels sprightly because of the abundance of mid-range torque.
Even on steep uphills with a full load, the Fort 2.4 feels very responsive and not underpowered. It loses steam after 3500 rpm but staying within 2000-3000 rpm is enough to get you going up to triple digit speeds.
0-100 times of the Fort 2.4 is slower than a Montero 2.4 or MUX 3.0, but real world driveability is still very good. All current PPVs have adequate power for Philippine roads. These cars aren't made for straight line performance anyway.
All PPVs for me are ubiquitous. They outsell almost all other car segments so even the poor selling MUX still outsells the bestselling crossover (CRV) or compact sedan (Civic).

i wouldn't dissuade a guy from choosing a car that uses a more nature-friendly, albeit more expensive, fuel.
it is unfortunate, that i do not follow my own advice.
is there a published item that compares the amounts of pollution a gas engined car spews out, versus what a diesel-powered car produces, in the same traffick-y distance traveled?

Imo, a pickup would be a better choice kay TS.

pick-up.
malapad at mahaba.
unless one is in the plant or moving business...
...all that space at the back, not being used and occupying lotsa space... sayang.
..hirap pa i-parada, kung mamalasin...
heh heh.

Ts was considering fortuner. So yes, why not choose its cheaper counterpart that is diesel. Unless TS would go to the mini compact route to save on fuel cost. But then route is long and being in a bigger ride would instill confidence. Opinion lang naman.

If your considering fort, i would suggest try monty. Dalawa na sumakay sa akin na fort ang pagmamay ari, smooth daw car ko. Or baka niloloko lang ako dahil, hinatid ko pa sa bahay nila. Hehehe!

Rush 5 seater a/t = 988T
Fort Gas = 1.597T
Hindi naman magkalapit ang pricing..
I suggest you look at Honda Mobilio or BRV instead of the Rush.. CVT is better than 4AT of Rush in city traffic short distance..
go innova! it's between the fort and the rush, price-wise, size-wise, be wise.
heh heh.

If you’re Single better get a crossover. ASX, Juke, Tuczon & HR-V.

Single passenger vehicle, used as a daily driver for work from Cavite-Makati.
Ever consider buying one of those small fuel efficient hatchbacks? The money you'll save in the price difference (1/3 to 1/2 of the cost), as well as in fuel & maintenance expenses can be used for more productive purposes.

Then again, if one is single, still living with the folks (expense free) and has the price of the vehicle "sponsored" by "galante" na parents, well, buy the one na talagang gusto mo.
I hope no one here misinterprets what I wrote in the above sentence. There's nothing wrong with that (and its none of my business, of course). Sa amin kasi, we were raised differently: "You've got to earn it, to deserve it" so mas practical lang ako magisip when it comes to things like this.![]()
