Even if it's an old model, it still rules supreme in its class, and by a large margin too.

why do you think that is?

Maybe the price. Plus, Toyotas rank among the highest in build quality.

It certainly looks better than the Civic, but I think it's top rival is already the Mazda 3.

Hehe, nice one there. A reason why you shouldn't believe in those Japanese Car of the Year awards. I'm pretty sure the new Civic will automatically win this again, so guys, look into other factors before buying this car.

As for now, Altis is the best!

All of the above. The name (definitely), the build quality and the reputation. Others may surpass it in terms of power, handling and amount of kit, but they can't overcome that general bias by the public... by the people who feel that it's "Toyota or nothing".

Plus the Altis is the ultimate non-car. Drive and forget... which is the way most non-car enthusiasts like it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

It's a good 'appliance' car. Drive and forget. A safe choice for those who don't want to give much thought into the car buying process.

At least for gas engines, the "Toyota" brand has made its mark in reliability in the Philippines.

The design doesn't seem that old. This looks like the XRS I test drove. The dealer tried hard to make me trade in my old Dodge minivan for one, but not hard enough. It's a hoot to drive, though:
