April 13th, 2010 02:09 PM #1just a newbie..
can i have some inputs regarding the problem with the ODO reading when you upgrade to stock mags to bigger mags and low profile tires? i read somewhere that it has an effect with the ODO.

Uhh ... I don't think so.
The only thing I know that the replacement of mags affects is your speedometer. The reading goes faster than your current speed. For example, speedometer reading is at 110kph, but your speed really is 100kph not 110kph.

Meron. The fact na hindi na accurate ang speedometer kasi na alter na ang default size ng tires, it has the same effect sa ODO.
Gawin mo para accurate parin, kunin mo ang exact ODO reading by the time na magpapalit ka ng mags. Then compute mo using tire calculator kung ilang percent ang difference then I plus/minus mo nalang sa ODO reading mo after the new mags.

Sa tire ko na stock wich is 245/70/16 to 265/75/16:
Speedometer Difference: 7.256% too slow
Diameter Difference: - Diameter Difference: 6.77%
So if ang byahe ko sa current tires is 100km sa ODO then i add 7.256% para makuha ko ang exact ODO reading just like sa stock na tires. Doon kasi calibrated ang stock ODO sensor natin.
Example. Yung distance ng isang house namin papuntang isang house is 3.1km during stock tires pero nung nag upgrade na ako to bigger wheels, 2.8km nalang ngayon.
