we dont have that prado here in US...we have the other one...the toyota land cruiser, i guess you call it land cruiser 100 something like that there in the philippines. our land cruiser here cost around including tax and all cost $65,000 and the lexus counter part the LX 470 cost around $75,000, all gas engine though no diesels and i believe a little bit more advanced i guess. i was surprised with the price of it 5.1 million pesos and i said wow...that's a great deal of money...well just want to share how i feel
thanks a lot and have a great day guys
    peace out ya all

Cale- the new prado, the newly crowned 4x4 of the year by four wheeler mag Lexus GX470, and the newest generation 4runner are of the same family. so it might be possible to say that it is available there, in different trimmings but same underchassis and basic body design, only difference is they are offered in v8's there whereas the prado here is powered by a v6 and diesel only.

Yung Toyota Surf SSR-X sold in the US has the same underchassis with LC120 series. While the SSR-G version is sold in Japan. Ofcourse may inalis na mga addons like X-REAS, H-TEMS, DAC, and other complicated electronic control units in the Prados.

Just one question though, when was it crowned 4X4 of the year? Is it for 2003?

yes the Lexus GX470 was crowned 4X4 of the year by 4Wheel & Off Road mag pala not 4wheeler. sorry guys. it won over the wrangler rubicon, hummer h2, ranger, kia sedona, super duty, 4runner among others.

when the series 90 came out in australia i think it was also voted 4x4 of year by one publication.

yeah i do agree that the prado is very similar to the lexus GX...but for the 4 runner naah i dont think so, they have a different physical apperance and engine choices...but i dont know if they share the same flatform though....i guess they are somewhat available with different badging, configuration and all sort of stuff, the car makers love to switch and confuse consumers you know...like in asia the name is Jose while in US the name is John,,you got what i mean but any how thanks for that comments guys..its tru that we learn things every single day of our life.
have a great day to all and peace out ya all

If the new Tax scheme is finally approved, the LC100 and Prado would cost significantly less. 3.5+ M na lang LC100 and 2.0M na lang ang Prado. Much more affordable to those who can afford it

    Mr. Pajerokid:

    1. Kung naaprubahan na yung bago na tax scheme, sa tingin mo magkano iyong Gen3 na pajero kapag lumabas dito? (kunyari iretain nila lahat - engine, 4x4, etc.)

    2. Is it better to buy a Prado instead? Iyong bago rin.

Thanks! (Hehe..., nakakainggit pics ng mga offroaders...)

    naka-D4D na rin ang LC120???

    TOYOTA LAND CRUISER PRADO
The more practical of Toyota's giant-sized SUVs, the Prado is a go-anywhere, tough-as-nails vehicle. It's pretty darn expensive (especially against Toyota's own Fortuner). And you do get most of the same mechanicals: all-wheel drive, seating for 7, D-4D engine. The body design may look sporty, but it's getting hard to distinguish it from the sleeker (!) Fortuner. Interior though is more opulent, better built and speced 'till the roof. If you want a good luxury SUV, better go up the latter some more.
    List Price P 2,710,000 (MT) P 2,862,000 (AT)
    Fuel / Octane Diesel
    Engine 3.0 SOHC 16V inline-4
    Max Output (bhp / rpm) 131 / 3600
    Max Torque (Nm / rpm) 343 / 2000
Fuel System Common Rail Injection, Turbo

    pero ung fortuner..
    3.0 DOHC 16V inline-4
    163 bhp/3400
    343 Nm/1400-3200

yup, typo error. the LC120 has the 1KZ-TE diesel engine of the LC90. it's not as powerful as the Fortuner's D-4D, but it's quite torquey. But since the turbo kicks in a bit early, it won't win any fuel consumption awards.
